When I tuned into Howie’s show yesterday and he was in a good mood, my spirits lifted. This is a great column - it sums up the situation masterfully. Thanks for the ping.

Let’s do this special election thread for one more day
1st Hour
Upstart Republican Scott Brown rocketed to victory in the race to the U.S. Senate yesterday, steamrolling Attorney General Martha Coakleys layabout campaign in an against-all-odds triumph that sent shock waves from the Heartland to the White House...What message would you like Scott to bring to Washington?
2nd Hour
Democrats agree on the obvious: Somebody had taken the seat for granted, had underestimated the publics anger over the economy, over the Democrats health care overhaul, over plain old arrogance in Washington. The rest is an epic intraparty blame-a-thon not seen among Democrats since President George W. Bush won re-election over Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry in 2004. The White House joined in Tuesday while people were still voting in Massachusetts, blaming Coakley and dismissing the notion that the toxic political environment had been a factor. Coakleys campaign fired back in a point-by-point memo that blamed that very environment...Why do you think Coakley lost?
