Cuomo needs Ford so he (Cuomo) can take on Patterson - Cuomo wants to be governor so bad he can taste it, but he’s worried about the race card. A white guy taking out a sitting black governor in a primary challenge is poor form. If Cuomo endorses Ford over Gillibrand, he probably thinks that gives him political cover to take on Patterson, Ford, for his part, wants to be senator so bad he can taste it (having run in TN) and needs Cuomo to legitimize his ambitions.
Nothing would make me happier than to see a Cuomo-Ford axis make war on the Patterson-Gillibrand-Schumer alliance. That could end up being the most entertaining political story of the summer, and buy, will it cost the Dums a lot of money. C’mon, Harold, BRING IT!!!!
I think Lazio is considering a run against Gillebrand. If liberal Westchester can vote for a Republican over a long-time Democrat incumbent, I’m hopeful they can vote smug I-know-better-than-you Chuckie Schumer out. Come on New York! Schumer has been in every single shot taken of the Dems trying to ram healthcare through. He insults anyone who disagrees with him, rather than addressing their disagreement. I can’t understand why New York can’t find a Conservative candidate who knows a thing or two about the constitution, has integrity, believes in small government and a strong military, is pro gun rights, and understands economics! Do we have to import such a person from out of state?
