I have the exact same thought: The similarities are so very similar to 1980. The national mood is fed up with the USA being degraded by the POTUS; the US Hockey Team was propelled to victory by our national mood, I believe. Ditto Scott Brown will be propelled to victory by our national mood. And, last but not least, the Soviet Hockey Team equals the Democrats, Obama and their leftist agenda.

The last Republican elected to the US Senate was before the Miracle on Ice. Ed Brooke was the last one in 1972.
