Months ago I was in a particularly unexpected position and by God’s providence was able to shake the president’s hand and introduce myself to him. I was immediately struck in the pit of my stomach with a feeling of nausea. I was actually frightened and pretty rattled immediately after the fact. I was not in the position to tell him how I felt about him personally or politically, as it was an off-the-cuff grip and grin, and I was in a professional environment in which doing so would have endangered my job.
