(CNSNews.com) – Erroll Southers, nominated by President Obama to head the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), said that “we will never win” a war on terrorism in the permanent sense, but we can focus on trying to “contain” terrorism.
The TSA, an element of the Department of Homeland Security, is responsible for the security of commercial aviation. Southers made his remarks in a 2008 video interview with the Videojug.com Web site.

He’s right. As long as islam exists, terrorism will exist. We can beat it back so that the terrorists come to fight our armed forces in foreign lands (as was done in Iraq), but it will just come back when we tire of fighting.

Israel has been fighting terrorism for 50+ years. Do you think they have failed because they haven’t eliminted it?
In a real sense the best we can hope to do is reduce terrorism significantly. Eliminate it 100%? No.

Exactly. The only way to actually win would be for Islam to entirely repudiate the islamic theology that supports terrorism...something that will not happen.
Scary things is....that there are Faux-cons who agree with this Southers guy. There are just as many weak-kneed Globalists in the GOP like Southers.
We can get rid of Islamic Terrorism.....if we do certain things:
1. Hold Islam reponsible for Islamic Terrorism. This nonsense of “Islam is a religion of peace” is idiotic...and holding Islam responsible for its religion’s terror puts them on ths spot.
2. Execute all Islamic Terrorists in US custody....and behead like they do under Sharia law. Terrorists tend to stay away from groups who are willing to be as violent as them...beheading is acceptable form of punishment in Islam...so they would look foolish and hypocritical to complain.
3. Hold Islamic nations liable for their citizenry’s terrorist acts....regardless of the group they belong.
4. The US be prepared to take over the Middle East, militarily. Most Middle East countries nationals are lazy and fat....a lot of the work is done by non-Arab, non-Muslims....they would welcome the US running the MEast oil than the Islamics

Evidently you don’t get it. Even if logically you might be right that the war will never completely be won. But as a person attempting to qualify as an important American leader in this war, and the head of TSA is definitely one of those, you CANNOT say that out loud, even in front of Congress.
It’s as if General Joe McAuliffe in World War 2, instead of saying “Nuts!” to the Germans, instead said, “well, you know, we ARE completely surrounded; give me a little time to work out some surrender details....”. Seemed logical, but he would never have said it.
if we can eliminate japanese and german terrorism then we can eliminate islamic terrorism. It just won’t be very pleasant...
But to his credit he was quick to assure everyone that they will not relent in the practice of performing strip searching old man and women in wheel chairs along with all babies in diapers.
