Oh please, that is just “Southern Speak” for “Bless Your Heart” in his kind words about Kennedy. What did you expect him to say about the dead former long-time Senator?

I’m already suffering from buyers remorse.

Another guy who doesn't get incrementalism.

He doesn’t sound so humble to me. He’s ripping Obama to shreds.

Yes, delightful, wasn't it?

I’m as enthused about Brown’s win in deep blue Massachusets as anyone else, and am pleased to have done my small part by plunking down a C-note to his campaign. But remember: he’s a New England Republican. While I don’t think he’ll be as bad as some of them, remember the northeast is the land of Lowell Weicker, Lincoln Chafee, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, and Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords. I expect Brown will occasionally disappoint some of the more conservative purists who are currently gushing, although he will be the darling of the Frums and the Brooks of the right. But overall, it’s good to have and R-MA following the name of a United States Senator for the first time in many decades.

This bill is not being debated openly and fairly. It will raise taxes, hurt Medicare, destroy jobs, and run our nation deeper into debt. It is not in the interest of our state or country ..."

Yep.

Amazing to watch Rachel Madcow and Chris “Skippy” Matthews trying to bring some logic to their deeply delusional minds and the best they could come up was that “conservatives are hypocrites because George Bush spent money and they never complained.” (They obviously don’t read National Review that has lambasted big government Republicans.) I had to laugh because they cannot bring themselves to tell the truth, he was better than she, but they don’t get it. You saw the pain in their faces because those two arrogant jerks are the most disconnected humans in the country - as journalists they couldn’t find their own behinds with two hands and they are supposed to be pundits. This country is center right, the Obama Dems have arrogantly and viciously grabbed power and bummed rushed it to the hard left, deliberately kept Republicans out, and lied about transparency. They bought votes in the senate and paid off the unions and trial lawyers, all the while their lackeys plied lie after lie, (like health care will balance the budget) in the media. They spend our tax money on lawyers for terrorists and say we are out of touch. They don’t get it!

Where are the jobs after spending a trillion dollars? Now more spending? More backroom deals? The Dems are on the run and it is about to get worse before it gets better. Please Dems, leave this great country alone, you will only ruin a thing of truth and beauty.

Funny how you are so new and know so little about class when it comes to giving an acceptance speech.

I hope that Republicans never act like Democrats and are always willing to be classy. Also hope that they understand the importance of thanking everyone that helped them even if someone like you doesn’t like who came out and helped him.

MA has 12% Republicans so of course he is going to reach out to Indys and more moderate Dems and be an independent voice for MA.

Anyone who stands up for our national defense and against Obamacare is a winner.

“What happened to the (ugh) part about his daughters being available?”

************

He’s a Dad! Jeez, parents embarass their kids and during that part of his speech he also applauded his daughters for their work on his campaign. He’s a family man and human. No more and no less.

A worthy successor would repeal 99% of what Kennedy pushed

Give him time. He is being gracious, not gloating over the losers. Being a gentleman was one of President Bush's best qualities. Do not stoop to the level of your opposition. Just beat the hell out of them.

You are right...exactly...yes same cadence - some say it is one of the ways he (purposefully) mesmerizes or hypnotizes his kookaid drinkers....

What a contrast that speech from Scott Brown to Zero’s head side to side and nose in the air and heartless-soulless “speeches”....

I will enjoy very much hearing what this new Senator has to say - both on the floor of the Senate and in interviews outside it. (I hope he won’t go on any of the TV pundit shows for awhile though...needs to get his balance in the Senate first).

PKM is not the only person partying tonight!

Our whole nation is partying!

Are you kidding???

This is a cause for great rejoicing and celebration!!!

Don’t you see God’s hand in this victory???

For crying out loud, it is as so many have said the “shot heard round the world”...round 2!

I noticed they excised those parts from the speech; makes me think they were giddy ad libs, because the rest of the speech pretty much tracks. And, yes, there was a teleprompter there.

What an incredible load of crappola!

Ronald Reagan employed much the same style of graciousness when speaking of his political opponents, including Tip O'Neill and the Kennedys.

Perhaps a change of screen name is in order.

VICTORY SPEECH "And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation - they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime. In dealing with terrorists, our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, not lawyers to defend them."

He sure knows how to slapdown an arrogant SOB posing as a president who appointed the dumbest USAG America has ever seen.

Of course he praised the Kennedy’s too much - but I chalk that up to being in Massachusetts and part of that reality...

The reality is he had a lot of help from Massachusetts Democrats. He does not want to alienate them. This man is extremely wise. Boozer Kennedy is a hero to many of them, in some cases even more so than JFK.
