Just listening to Stossel on Dennis Miller’s show talking about Pickens. Stossel said the same thing. No wonder a Dem I know on Facebook had them on their fan page.

Pickens is an opportunist who wanted to get rich on windmills and when that didn’t work, sold out his windmill business and is now back in the oil bidness.

You are half right. He's certainly not an idiot. The windmill projects he's advocating are not the solution to our energy problem. Natural Gas could be more effective in reducing our dependence on foreign oil if used properly.

Here's what we should do.

1. Greatly expand Nuclear Power to provide electricity.
2. Don't build any more natural gas powered electrical power plants.
3. Use the natural gas freed up by building Nuclear power Plants for transportation purposes.
4. Use coal and natural gas for liquid fuel by Fischer-Tropsch process. This is ideal transportation fuel. Can make clean gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.
5.Drill for oil wherever we can domestically.

6. No more subsidies for Solar & Wind.
If they can make it on their own, then fine but no more taxpayer money.
