I agree. A true maverick ignores the establishment for the will of the people.

This will be a repeat of when they ran together before. People will turn out to see her, not him. There’s nothing she can say or do to make him nice or acceptable. I saw an interview late last night of an author who wrote a “behind the scenes” book about big names in politics. He said Juan and Cindy McCain fight openly and viciously, ALL THE TIME. He said they have to film hours of them before they can get a civil minute or two of them not saying the most horrible things to each other. I knew he treated his staff like dirt, but his wife? He’s forgetting whose money got him started. What a jerk. Dump him Sarah. Don’t waste your time or reputation.

If you’re lurking Sarah, don’t do it.

"I don’t want another pol who only acts in her own best interests..."

Do you believe it to be in America's best interest to keep McCain in the Senate?

I am a Palin supporter and have been from day one. I have wanted to support her all the way to the White House.

If this story is true, this idiotic decision will not fair well for her.

Supporting McCain’s reelection could easily became the second time that McCain he kept her from seeing the inside of the White House.

I am very concerned.

Look at my history and you will see I was and still am a big supporter of her...but I am dissapointed in this decision and she, like Bush, is not above being made aware when she is making a big mistake.

I understand loyalty but I don’t think Sarah understands how much McCain is hated throughout the country.

I think that's the point most of us here fail to realize:

John McCain is NOT hated throughout the country.

But, the election is in Arizona, so it comes down to whether he's hated there.

What type of person would she be if now she threw McCain under the bus?

What type of person would she be if she threw conservative principles under the bus?

“You mean, like supporting someone even when you know you will catch hell for it?”

LOL, yep. Or even NOT supporting someone even when you know you will catch hell for it.

No. You didn’t read all of my comments, evidently.

If I were her I would have SO had nothing to do with this race. Let the people of Arizona decide.

You're exactly right. As I said on another related thread, Sarah should keep her mouth shut as Arizona Republicans (like myself) go to the primaries to determine if they want a stalwart conservative (Hayworth) as their standard bearer, or a progressive (McCain).

Now having said that, if, after the primary, McCain wins, no one would begrudge Sarah the license to campaign for McCain over his Democratic rival.

I think this shows that even the most principled politician will sometimes need to compromise her principles. That’s the way the world works, in politics, in business, in life. We all do it to some extent, unless we want to live th life of a hermit.

Yes, I did read your comments and asked you for a clarification. Evidently that is not allowed.

I’d like to know his numbers in Arizona..is McCain leading. Is Hayworth even running. If he is not running and its just McCain against the Dem, yeah, as bad as McCain is, I’d take him anyday over a Dem

Hayworth has been thinking about running for a while now but hasn’t announced that he is. Before people criticize Sarah on this, maybe we should ask what she knows that we don’t.

If Hayworth was serious about taking McCain’s seat, wouldn’t he have announced already? If he could get the financing or was confident about internet contributions against McCain, wouldn’t he want that to start happening sooner rather than later?

At a time when we have a great opportunity to take back Democrat seats, maybe Sarah doesn’t see the point in battling over a Republican seat and wants to discourage a primary race there.

The Hayworth threat may just be an effort to force McCain to the right and that sounds like a good idea to me. If he really has an interest in running, it’s time to crap or get off the pot.

It’s up to the people of Arizona to decide..if they want McCain, then they want McCain, Sarah has nothing to do with that. I’d like to know if Hayworth is officially running, if he isn’t, then damn, who cares if she endorsed McCain, as much as I think McCain is a corrupt ass who goes whatever the way the wind is blowing, he is better then any Dem Arizona might elect

She spent months in 2008 telling people McCain would make a great president, now she’s going to say he wouldn’t ever make a good senator?

Wouldn’t people ask why “you were for McCain before you are against him?”, if it’s about “conservative principles” then why didn’t she turn down the VP nomination?

She has to support McCain because to do anything else would be to throw her own credibility under the bus.

WHAT..you mean Hayworth hasn’t even announced if he is running..and people are bashing Sarah for endorsing McCain LOL perhaps people jumping the gun again. Maybe Sarah knows something some here don’t, perhaps she knows that Hayworth is NOT running, if that is the case, she absolutely made the right choice
