As Sen. John McCain readies for a potential primary challenge from the right this fall, the Arizona Republican is playing his trump card.
Sarah Palin, McCain's former running mate and perhaps the most powerful brand in Republican politics, will stump for McCain in Arizona on March 26 and 27, a Palin adviser told CNN. The presence of Palin - and the considerable crowds and media attention she will draw - might give pause to J.D. Hayworth, the former Republican congressman and radio host who opposes McCain's position on illegal immigration and is mulling a Senate run of his own.

He didn’t really campaign for her when she was his own running mate.
I guess once you make it to the upper levels of the GOP it’s all about covering each others butts.

Yeah, I hear ya..if I were her, I would have just not gotten involved in this race. I understand why she’s doing it but I still don’t like it. She is also campaigning for Bachmann and Perry, which I am VERY happy with. I like those two, but McCain..well, let’s hope the people of Arizona throw McCain’s butt out so that Hayworth will win and she can campaign for him. I understand loyalty but I don’t think Sarah understands how much McCain is hated throughout the country

The upside is that this puts that little butt-plug Steve Schmitt out in the cold.
I don’t think she’s running for office anyway. She got a taste of big bucks and wouldn’t want to walk away from it. Either way, this blunder would lose my vote for her.
I agree..that was what I have been saying, it would have been the best move. Unfortunately I knew this day would come. I don’t get it but she feels like she owes the guy something. He never supported her, now he treats her well because he needs her
