If I had to guess, McLame had the lo-class nerve to ask her, and she had TOO MUCH class to say no.

To do so would have been a tremendous and very public slap in the face- and seemed very ungrateful.

Agreed. She can’t say no and start making enemies right now. Too early in the game.

Sarah’s a politician and is doing what she has to do.

That's a gracious guess and probably correct. But!

This is exactly the problem at our high levels of government - more about personal go-along-get-along than about the principles (issues) which should be engaged objectively. Picture, at those high dealing levels, it is very difficult to break free of the personal ties, in the Senatorial or DC chambers. Very similar to a mother granting her drug infested children umbrage rather than hard discipline, and possible alienation, which would correct the situation. A tragic personal mistake, especially true beyond this parent-child example when the stakes bear on a whole nation of tax-paying law abiding constituents.

John McCain is not a principled individual, at least not for the conservative principles of valuing personal responsibility, self honesty, and the human dignity of the individual spirit.

A serious serious disappointment Sarah. You could have refused it with personal sensitivity, but John McCain is NOT our answer. And like Colin Powell with Barack Obama, at some point you are in a position where you must stand up for us rather than your associates.
