For the life of me, I cannot understand why so many Jews are liberals and Marxist.

For the life of me (and I'm Jewish), I cannot understand why so many members of my family are liberals, and sometimes espouse Marxist views!

Of course, I seem to be the "black sheep" of the family. Small-L libertarian, somewhere between Neal Boortz and Dr. Walter Williams, and I like motorcycles and guns. The last part REALLY rankles them! I have a cousin who heard me talking to a friend about a gun, and she went ballistic! She said, "I can't believe you have a gun! Well, I'm not coming over to your house if you have a gun there!" My response to her was, "Gloria, I don't have a gun at my house. I have 17 guns, and you've never been invited to my house!"

I'm a bête noire in my family in a few limited respects, but it has seldom caused any problem because we still have a lot in common (including politically), and I know how to be cool about our differences.

I think it's a mutation. On which side, I leave up to you.
