Does anyone know how much this latest deluge has done to ease the drought in California? I know it’s been a long drought - some three years or more - but a HUGE amount of rain has fallen in the last week.
I'll watch as I am sure others will also.
It’s a lot better than it was a week ago but we still got a ways to go..

Based on Mountain Data from NRCS SNOTEL Sites As of FRIDAY: JANUARY 22 , 2010
I heard that the Sierra snowpack is at 96% of normal. That’s very good news.
Here’s what the Mercury News says about drought levels:

It looks like N. California still needs more rain.
They are saying 2 or 3 more weeks of rain are needed.
They will say we are still in a drought! They are nuts!We have had at LEAST 10 inches here probably more!It has rained steadily all day here....
We were at about 80% of normal this year before these storms hit and we should be in good shape now. We also have some more storms coming in starting Monday.
All CA has to do is build desalinization plants and use that water for the farmers mainly. The pols won't do that of course because it makes sense and they couldn't scream drought and pass obnoxious legislation every time our rain/snow fall goes between 85 and 95 percent of normal
