As for the *white vote* focus of this thread - certainly many Dems wanting to be *color blind* went totally blind, deaf and dumb embracing the first less white president. They are beginning to open their eyes and realizing he is worse than John Kerry, Mike Dukakis, Walter Mondale or Al Gore and not near as cuddly as Bill Clinton.

Whites will never be the minority in this country.

The 2000 census created the race “hispanics” in order to among other things give the perception that whites would soon be the minority. But the FACT is, more than half of hispanics self identify as white.

My sister is raising her bi-racial granddaughter. The girl is quite upset with Zer0 for divorcing himself from his "whiteness." Obama only won 44% of the white vote, so he never “had” white America. Clearly, many of the 44% are now waking up and each percentage that shifts presents a monumental downturn in his electability, just by the sheer fact that 74% of voters are white.

I’ve read that 80% of “Hispanics” self identify as white.

In fact, my two sister-in-laws - a Dominican but US born and a Columbian by birth - are both pretty darn white looking to me also!

The cool thing is that my Columbia born SIS is now a US citizen (and her mom too) by way of the old fashioned way, meaning, they earned it!

That's a bit like blaming Reagan for the arms race, the Soviets and their left wing fellow travelers in the West preferred it when the Soviets were the only ones racing. The Democrats have been waging race war since the seventies, fighting back is not starting a race war. The left started the race war long ago, and if the GOP knows where its bread is buttered it'll all start sticking up for those who actually vote Republican, rather than pandering to those who don't.

The long-range prospects for election of conservatives/Republicans do not lend optimism when evolving demographics are resulting in whites being a minority nationally, which has already occured in such populous states such as California.
