(NECN: Boston) - Her father is the talk of Washington Republicans, but Ayla Brown says she has an independent streak - and a voting record to prove it. In an interview with Beth Shelburne of New England Cable News Friday, Ayla Brown, the daughter of Massachusetts Senator-Elect Scott Brown, acknowledges that she voted for Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry in his 2008 re-election campaign.
Brown says she met Kerry at an event she sang at and was impressed by him personally. "I thought he was incredibly nice and like I said, I take that into consideration when it comes to voting - because those who reach out to the people and who are nice to those who are in Massachusetts, that's all you need to know, she said. "Usually those nice people will work hard for those in Massachusetts."
Brown says she's registered as an independent - known as 'unenrolled' in Massachusetts. "There are times I have voted for a Republican, there are times I have voted for a Democrat. I really just try to look at the people."
You can see Beth's full profile of the Boston College student, singer and basketball star as part of NECN's one-hour special, "Mr. Brown Goes to Washington," Friday night at 8pm on New England Cable News.

John Kerry was ribbing Scott Brown about this yesterday. Kind of funny, I think.
I believe her.
She was kicked out of American Idol. Karma? I think so.
LOL
Young, (hot, though) skull full of mush.
This is not nice of me at all but I am going to say it....
Welcome to the next generation of idiots. Even with conservative parents raising her into adulthood she hasn’t a clue who she votes for or why. She like most others of her age do not have the moral clarity needed to make tue independent decisions. They have bought hook line and skinker what they have been spoon fed in their “American” education system. This is why we have a fool for a president - fools voted him in......
What a ditz. Treason is such hard work I guess.
Boston College is a wealthy party school not noted for the intellectual quality of it’s graduates. Safe, pretty, preppy in a pudgy kind of way. Produces a lot of bores who tell you they went to BC. I usually ask them what they are reading now, look for the deer in headlights look and watch them go search out another vodka drink.
Twit,,, pretty much said “he was nice”. Women often vote for the candidate they’ed most like to be in bed with,,, then try to disguise it as a thoughtful choice.
Probably Kerry won by 70 to 30 percent that year. They usually don’t have real elections in massachusetts.
That is why Scott Brown is so amazing.
She sounds a lot smarter than Meghan McCain.
She is young and doesnt understand.
All Politicians and Used Car Salesmen have a kind, nice guy personna.
Its one of the tricks of the trade.
Before you vote you should just take a peek into their background. Look into John Kerry’s and find a traitor to America, A liar who said he threw away the medals he has hanging in his office, medals that were not earned, but used to get him out of Viet nam.A man who traded with the Viet Cong in Paris.Lied about a trip to Cambodia.
Is John Kerry a nice guy? To me he is a traitor, and next time this young lady votes she should do a little more research.
Ughhh. Let’s hope she doesn’t meet Meghan McCain in Washington
“There are times I have voted for a Republican, there are times I have voted for a Democrat. I really just try to look at the people.”
Sounds like me.
Eva Bruan voted for Adolf because he was a nice person who loved dogs.
Dim bulb
If you stand for nothing you will fall for anything. She needs to decide who to vote for on the issues. An airhead with a heck of a father. Hope she learns something from this election. Like issues count?
Some nice blanket statements there.
You said it! College students today, and I know plenty of them, are such bird-brains. Very depressing to talk with.
OTOH I've got a teenage sibling who's a rock-solid conservative. HOMESCHOOLED.
