That would make Joe Biden President.

I'm no Constitutional scholar, but I'm not sure that the normal succession rules would be in place. Wouldn't John McCain be the legitimate presidential 2008 candidate who received the most votes?

If the President should die or otherwise become unable to perform his duties, the Vice President shall advance to the office.

Moreover, Biden also has the advantage of being elected. McCain does not.
