Names sound Hindu / Buddhist, and since they are from Sri Lanka, I’m guessing illegal immigrants.

Headley twisted facts while applying India visa: Report

December 08, 2009 11:42 IST

http://news.rediff.com/report/2009/dec/08/anniversary-26-11-headley-twisted-facts-while-applying-india-visa.htm

Pakistani-origin American national David Coleman Headley, charged with criminal conspiracy in the Mumbai terror attacks, had misrepresented facts while applying for an Indian visa, the FBI has charged.

“In applying for his visa to travel to India, Headley misrepresented his birth name, father’s true name and the purpose for his travel,” the FBI said in its 12-count charge sheet filed against him in a Chicago court.

For applying for a visa to travel to India, he took the help of his school-time friend Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who ran an immigration service in Chicago, named the First World Immigration Services.

Rana, a 48-year-old Canadian of Pakistani-origin, too has been arrested by the FBI on terror charges.

Headley, 49, obtained Rana’s approval to open a First World office in Mumbai as cover for this activity. The FBI charge sheet alleges that Rana instructed one of his employees to prepare documents to support Headley’s cover story and advised him on how to obtain a visa for travel to India.

According to the charge sheet, Headley approached Rana for help after being tasked by Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba in late 2005 with gathering surveillance in Mumbai.

After changing his name from Dawood Gilani to David Coleman Headley to conceal his Muslim identity during his planned visit to India, he travelled to Chicago where he obtained a visa.

“Hijack threat, AI planes put on high alert”
PTI, 22 January 2010, 11:02am IST

SNIPPET: “NEW DELHI: Government has put all Air India planes operating in the country’s neighbourhood on high security alert and directed the airlines to deploy sky marshals following intelligence inputs that Pakistan-based LET and other terror groups were planning to hijack a flight. ( Watch Video )

A directive has been issued to all Indian missions abroad to sensitise the staff of the airlines, official sources said.

According to intelligence inputs, terrorist groups having allegiance with al-Qaida, Lashker-e-Taiba and Jamat-ul-Dawa were planning to hijack an Air India plane especially operating in or from SAARC countries — Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India as well. ( Watch Video )

Hijacking could be attempted by the terrorists from airports located at Yangon, Dhaka and Colombo. Security of planes operating to Bhutan has also been beefed up, the sources said.”

two employees of a private multinational ground-handling company.

One if this company had anything to do with the well dressed man that was reported seen with the Christmas bomber.

The guy who saw the well dressed South Asian man was interviewed by George Noory and sounded convincing about what he saw at Schiphol Airport.

Aforesaid man guiding the bomber and speaking to airline staff and airport officials, ensuring the bomber’s flight.

And in regards to this thread - if one incident got publicized, my guess is there have been others that didn’t make the public radar.

OTH, it could be a pure and simple attempt to enter the UK/Canada for work.

It could be a legitimate service that was taken advantage of....In that case they need to vet their clientele better.
