Obama campaign manager David Plouffe will take on an expanded outside role as an adviser to the president, an administration official tells AP.
The New York Times reports that Plouffe will oversee House, Senate and governor’s races, and that he will work primarily through the Democratic National Committee, in coordination with the White House.
The paper also reports that “several top operatives from the Obama campaign will be dispatched across the country to advise major races as part of the president’s attempt to take greater control over the midterm elections, aides said.”
In a Washington Post oped published online Saturday and running in the Sunday paper, Plouffe lays out “a few general things that Democrats can do to strengthen our hand”:
“Pass a meaningful health insurance reform package without delay,” “show that we not just are focused on jobs but also create them,” “Make sure voters understand what the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act did for the economy,”
“Don't accept any lectures on spending,” “‘Change’ is not just about policies,” “Run great campaigns,” and “no bed-wetting.”
The "Scott heard 'round the world" has them crazed, they're going ballistic .. and they're going come back at this country's dissension and disapproval of -0 with VENGEANCE and more heavy handedness. Be prepared!

The impending electoral disaster for the democrats is the inevitable result of a policy agenda that benefits 25% of the population while hurting the other 75%. I'm not quite as good at math as I used to be, but as far as I know 75 beats 25 by a landslide at the polls every time.

Never mind the fact that the candidates in the at risk states don’t want anything to do with Obie or his thugs. They certainly don’t want them crafting the message.

So they think this guy is going to be the muscle (along with Rahmbo, I'm sure) in the state races. He's as brainwashed and almost as snarky and delusional as Gibbs, but then they're ALL totally delusional and arrogant.

This new WH politics tsar should help the falling approval numbers continue to flag. Doubtless this will further the trend of transparency in this administration as well.
