For hours after allegedly trying to use a bomb hidden in his underwear to blow up a Christmas Day flight to Detroit, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab talked and talked – to Customs officers, medical personnel and FBI agents.

The bomb had severely burned Abdulmutallab, but he was still conscious. As he was taken from the scene, federal agents repeatedly interviewed him or heard him speak to others. When they read him his legal rights nearly 10 hours after the incident, he went silent.

That part is a little unclear; he came out of surgery, was conscious but still under the influence of pain medication, and the FBI freely decided not to question him during that period --by "being nice" they wasted time. He was NOT mirandized and/or lawyered up during that time.
Later they Mirandized him and he shut up for good. Err...he shut up permanently.
I am torn on what to do.

We have an administration that does not care to make an attempt to keep its own citizens safe, although that is one of the main jobs of the President of the United States. One of the first things 0bama did when he took office was to dismantle our intelligence capabilities. His administration was out to lunch when the Fort Hood shooter did his terrorist act, and was out to lunch again when the terrorist Abdulmatallab tried to blow up the airliner over Detroit. His administration releases Muslim terrorists from the prison at Guantanamo Bay to Yemen and to Algeria so they can get back into the business of killing Americans.
Since 0bama continues in this dereliction of his most important duty, it will be up to us, up to each American citizen, to do what we can to keep ourselves safe from Muslim terrorism; individually or in groups. We need to keep our eyes open to what is happening around us; we need to take the initiative to call bullshit on the politically-correct nonsense we hear and read every day. We need to vote against incumbent politicians who go along with the head-in-the-sand political correctness. We are on our own here, and we cannot count on the Government, we cannot count on the 0bama administration for help.
Each one of us may be in the position of the airline passengers who took down the hijacked airliner in Pennsylvania or the Dutch filmmaker who jumped on Abdulmatallab on the Detroit-bound flight. Liberty has a cost, and in these days of incompetent government we need to remember that.
Dang, it really rubs me raw to PAY for this guy’s surgery.

Even if federal officials wanted to expand its use to domestic cases, though, the special team was not ready for action, FBI Director Robert Mueller told Congress last week.
But of course, it's Bush's fault.
My guess the ‘news’ that he talked and talked is just a ruse to cover the big mess up of handling him and the case.
Now they’re telling us that their handling of the case wasn’t so bad, we got the info anyway.
It’s sad, but my first response to anything they say is BS. It was that way with Bush too, but this guy has raised it to new heights!
