A GOP congresman on Sunday backed former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) who announced yesterday he will primary Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) became the first lawmaker to endorse the former radio host Hayworth's upstart bid.
In a Twitter post, Rohrabacher said:
McCain's wrong on too many big issues: #Immigration, #GlobalWarming, #Bailouts. @JDHayworth is better #AZ #tcot #Hayworth
Hayworth informed the Associated Press late Friday that he was stepping down as host of an Arizona talk radio program to run for Senate against the 2008 GOP presidential nominee.
By law, Hayworth could not remain a radio host and run for Senate.
The former congressman is challenging McCain from the right. McCain is perceived by some in the Republican Party as someone who too often bucks his party, though he has recently scored points among the GOP faithful for opposing the Democrats' healthcare reform bill plan.
Hayworth was unseated in 2006 by Democrat Harry Mitchell.
GO JD!!
GREAT NEWS!.
Goodbye McCain.
“he has recently scored points among the GOP faithful for opposing the Democrats’ healthcare reform bill plan”.
...yeah. When it suited McCain and he knew his position was at stake. Vote him back in and he’ll be all for the dismal health bologna.
Good news.
Good for Rohrbacker!
Strange indeed how McCain could slam JD over the air, yet non-candidate JD could not, by law, retaliate. Juan’s version of the Fairness Doctrine I guess
It's been real.
Anything to give us relief from McCain. Sarah honey, I know you are a very loyal person and that is admirable, but I really hope you will continue doing the right thing which is COUNTRY FIRST (remember that?), and that includes sending illegal aliens BACK, not giving them citizenship just because they’re here and feel so smarmy about.
It’s a slap in the face to those that did it the right way, of which I have quite a few friends beintg a South Texas boy, and they’re not impressed with any amnesty deal bubbling in the dark, secret corners with people like McCain.
Our Immigration laws are more than fair and we must maintain citizenship standards for our own good and protection for the Border war heating up.
Go to the rally. Cheer like mad for Sarah and/or Steve. Clap hands and stomp feet. Throw hats and confetti into the air. When McCain takes the stage, head for exits or offer polite, disinterested golf claps. If Sarah or Steve mention John’s name, just clear your throat and shuffle your feet.
Juan McCain is a POS who gave us:
1. McCain Feingold which helped elect Obama and the Dem Congress.
2. A pretend POTUS campaign which was really a prizefight taking a fall for Soros cash.
3. Friend of Kerry’s.
4. Mutiple knife’s in the backs of conservatives
5. Tried to give us amnesty.
6. Trying to give us gay marriage.
Go Hayworth!
Good for Rohrabacher and J. D. Hayworth!
...Or go to JD’s rally and cheer madly for JD. Clap heartily for mentions of Sarah and Steve. Low murmurs for McCain.
Politics makes for stange bedfellows.
The primary election isn’t until the thrid week in August.
Sarah Palin is appearing on McCain behalf sometime in March.
It is more than likely Sarah’s endorsement will be seen by most people for what it is. She is extending a kindness to the man she calls a close friend.
It is her decision.
The thing to remember is that this election isn’t about Sarah Palin. John McCain wants it to be but it isn’t. Best to just ignore the fact that Sarah Palin is backing the incumbent and let McQueeg run on his own “merits”
I would walk out when Juan McAmnesty got to the podium. He is a stinking RINO.
GOOD on Dana Rohrabacher.
He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't!
It's called "Poetic Justice!"
Moreover, not wanting to start the whole Palin issue again, I can't help but wonder what she will do if he supports this measure? I predict, she will back out gracefully!
Absolutely!
