Wouldn't hurt for him to quote some of the Founders in his response, such as:

"To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. I'm not so sure anymore.

Sarah is stumping for McCain with his open borders / amnesty policies.

she is stumping for McQueeg because he chose her for his running mate.

She has turned down other RINOs who asked for support...lets hope this is short lived and only a one time thing to show her respect for him and her payback for being chosen for the Veep spot....

I've been putting together dozens of insights from patriots and our Founding Fathers such as these. I'm up to about eight pages of quotations from Adams, Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Paine, Franklin...

"But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever." --John Adams

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents..." --James Madison

"The essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must be in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse." --James Madison

"The present Constitution is the standard to which we are to cling. Under its banners, bona fide must we combat our political foes -- rejecting all changes but through the channel itself provides for amendments." --Alexander Hamilton

"The construction applied to those parts of the Constitution of the United States which delegate Congress a power .ought not to be construed as themselves to give unlimited powers, nor a part to be so taken as to destroy the whole residue of that instrument." --Thomas Jefferson

"The Constitution is a mere thing of wax in the hands of the judiciary which they may twist and shape into any form they please." --Thomas Jefferson

"National defense is one of the cardinal duties of a statesman." --John Adams

"It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." --Samuel Adams

"To be prepared for war, is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace." --George Washington

Should have been Napoleon.

No, seriously, this is an excellent choice. Scott Brown doesn’t need any more publicity at the moment. This will remind people of Obama’s earlier losses at the polls.

I’m sure McDonnell will do a good job.

I understand the loyalty aspect. However, if she has strong convictions about illegal immigration, the rule of law, and the US Constitution; she should, in my opinion, gracefully turn down McCain's request.

its a tough one....I agree and disagree.....the loyalty to the person who made you a household name...or your loyalty to the constitution....I would have to chose the constitution, but I understand the loyalty to a team mate too....I will wait and see the long term outcome...she hasn't gone over the deep end yet, in my book.

Great collection of quotations from the Founders!

Perhaps you are familiar with a 292-page volume entitled, "Our Ageless Constitution," originally published in 1987 (Bicentennial Year of the Constitution), and recently reprinted after being out of print for over 20 years.

It contains color portraits of early Presidents, beautifully-illustrated essays on the principles and essays underlying the Constitution, as well as scholars' essays on how, over 200 years, the nation departed from the founding principles.

It also contains many documents from our history, as well as a section of "Quotable Quotes," arranged alphetically by topic. The book is available here. See the Endorsements tab for reviews, including one by President Reagan.
