CROIX DES BOUQUETS, HAITI -- Aid organizations struggling to shelter more than 600,000 Haitians made homeless by the earthquake said Sunday that there are only 10,000 tents in the country, and that they remain in a warehouse, relegating the population to many more nights in squalid camps and on street sidewalks.
"We have a severe shortage of tents," said Niurka Pineiro of the International Organization for Migration, the lead agency tasked with creating immediate solutions for Haitians left without a roof over their heads.

We do not have enough tents, therefor nobody gets one.
When enough people die to make it enough tents, then we will start putting them up.
Don’t send em to the USA. We have too many in Florida bankrupting the state. Haiti is not a state in the USA.
If any bleeding hearts are here then name your state - we can send 400,000 to your town. They require ENDLESS govt benefits for decades and probably for life.
( Or so the headlines of false compassion should read, for that is exactly what is happening now, unreported in the press.)
Nah, send them somewhere cheaper. Like Venezuela, or Cuba or France... lol.
Aren’t “makeshift camps” basically what they had before the earthquake?
Haiti is one screwed up mess. It’s sad.
Are we at status FUBAR, yet?
send them to a rat state....like California or New York....or Minnesota...even better.....

California is already bankrupt, fiscally and morally. Who would notice?
“Arent makeshift camps basically what they had before the earthquake?”. I was wondering the same thing along with this thought. What did they eat before also? They have boats so fishing is a source. what about farming? I’m going to do some more research. God have mercy.
