A man is being questioned by police after trying to force his way into the cockpit of a plane flying from Cardiff to the Canary Islands.
He was overpowered and restrained by passengers and flight attendants on the 0810 GMT Thomson Airways service.
He was arrested by police when the aircraft landed safely at Las Palmas airport in Gran Canaria.
Thomson Airways said the man "demonstrated aggressive behaviour towards customers and crew".
The company said: "Thomson Airways can confirm that a passenger became disruptive during flight TOM 6102, flying from Cardiff to Las Palmas airport, Gran Canaria, on 25 January, 2010.

Sure seems to be a lot of these events nowdays.
Well, nuts do abound nowadays. The guy who tried to open the door on a US flight a couple of days ago was a big blonde guy, unkempt and crazy looking, who was also drunk. He decided that he was on the wrong plane and wanted to change planes.
These things do happen...
When the news first broke about the underwear bomber, the idiots on CNN were making light of it, referring to the device as a firecracker. It wasn't until several hours later, when passengers were actually interviewed, did the scope and seriousness of what happened, actually become clear. Unlike every other news story, the media seems to have a vested interested in underplaying these stories.

Aircraft should now be outfitted with bomb-bay-... fisgruntled passenger doors where they can be placed during flight. Whether the door is opened in-flight is purely Captain’s discretion. Maybe have a vote of all passengers...?
I’m always amazed that these would-be terrorists survive being overpowered by the other passengers.

When are the ragheads going to learn that the days of passengers sitting quitely while they take over the plane ended on 9-11.
Perhaps it’s time that commercial aircraft are equipped with “Terrorist Bead-Down Kits”, which deploy from the cabin roof like the oxygen masks. They could include brass nuckles, billy clubs, mace, small flame thowers, etc. Might be helpful.

I think you have a great idea for a new reality show. If cameras are put on the plan, TruTV can broadcast them in a show called Dumbest Terrorists.
