WELCOME BACK RACE FANS TO DAYTONA SPEEDWEEKS WHICH BEGINS THE 2010 NASCAR SEASON

32nd annual BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT
Saturday, February 6th

The race distance will continue to be 75 laps (187.5 miles) on the 2.5-mile tri-oval. The race will have two segments, of 25 and 50 laps. Both green- and yellow-flag laps will count.

Between segments, there will be a 10-minute pit stop at which time teams will pit and may elect to change tires, add fuel and make normal chassis adjustments.

Starting positions will be determined by a draw at the annual Budweiser Shootout Draw Party on Thursday night, Feb. 4, on the SPEED stage in the Midway, outside Turn 4.
The Budweiser Shootout, which is scheduled for 8:10 p.m., is the climax to a racing tripleheader on Saturday, Feb. 6.

Kicking off the day’s activities at 1:05 p.m. will be Daytona 500 Qualifying Presented By Kroger on Fox.

At 4:30 p.m. on SPEED, the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards will kick off their season with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 and Danica Patrick will make her much-anticipated stock car racing debut.

Good Job WCG!

Nascar is ready to let the drivers race.. ‘Bout time!

They are even adding ‘looser’ restrictor plates to zip things up a bit..

Is Nascar listening? .. or is it the dwindling crowds?

Giddyup!

They are definitely listening to the fans - because the fans express themselves by not going to track or watching on TV.

One other thing, they told the drivers not to publicly voice displeasure with Nascar LOL (Jr included) They convinced him that when he says something the ratings go down LOL When Jr speaks everyone listens?

Check this out: Woo-Hoo!

Too bad it's not mine.

Damm...with a little more practice you could get good at this. I do have a racin question that I’m sure you can answer... has Danica asked for a extra mirror so she can check her makeup before exiting the car?

Thanks for the ping. Thread looks great!

It’s been so long since I’ve done one I may have forgotten how :-)

Is Danika a done deal for NNS?

hahaha not yet - she’s taken up sewing and is currently working on a new fragrance, and she was in San Antonio two days ago for a Time Warner event.

She Twitters you know, so that’s where I keep up with her. :)

I’m sure her boss Kelley Earnhardt would be ok with the extra mirror, being a woman.

Not yet on Danica - first she runs ARCA then they will decide - Dale Jr is running the main car #88 and Danica will run 7 if she does ok in ARCA or Bires will race that one. Only thing I can figure out is the sponsor wanted Jr in the 88.

You have no idea how much trouble I had putting this together today. Ugh - I did forget - and some threads I used before don’t work now for some reason. Took me about 4 hours.

Speaking of sewing, half the ladies in our Church are Quilters as is my best friends wife and daughter. Those sewing machines can cost more than a race car...

Cup, Nationwide and Truck teams could lose sponsor

Sponsorship from Miccosukee Indian Gaming in all three of NASCAR’s national series - Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Trucks - could be terminated as a result of an early February vote by the Indian tribe, the Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned.

Several sources confirmed the tribe plans a Feb. 4 vote to decide whether it will continue its sponsorship in NASCAR, which includes Cup and Nationwide teams to be fielded in 2010 by team owner James Finch and a Truck team owned and driven by Kyle Busch.

4 hours? You are Quick!

Usually takes me that long to do research! A few more for graphics, and a few more for assembly and proofreading.
