[GOP Liberal]Stop Tom Campbell - Pan-Jihadist In California Race (Debbie Schlussel Alert)
Debbie Schlussel ^ | 11/25/2009 | Debbie Schlussel

Posted on 01/25/2010 1:48:55 PM PST by goldstategop

Don’t bet on Republicans breaking a fingernail over pan-jihadism in their midst. It’s only when it’s on the other side of the aisle that they give a damn. And always bet against the empty slogans of Republicans who claim to be against terrorism, but do nothing to excommunicate–and everything to enable and promote–the pan-jihadists on their side of the aisle.

Is the GOP really the party of counterterrorism? With Tom Campbell still comfortably in its fold and boldly planning to run for Governor on the elephant party’s ticket, not really.

And, with a record like his, if I were the California Democrats and Barbara Boxer, I’d pray that Tom Campbell becomes the GOP nominee.

Don’t leave it up to the Republican Party. Do what you can to stop Tom Campbell. Tell your friends in California, and if you live there, tell everybody.

She doesn't like her because she's an empty suit. No real conservative would be stumping for John McCain.

She knows, and made numerous reference to Boxer being the Democrat that he wants to run against; the problem lies in the excerpt posted. Here's a slightly longer excerpt that makes clear that the language regarding Campbell running for Governor is a quote from a 2008 column:

"As I wrote, in 2008, when Campbell was running for Governor (he’s since dropped out of that race to run in the U.S. Senate race):

Don’t bet on Republicans breaking a fingernail over pan-jihadism in their midst. It’s only when it’s on the other side of the aisle that they give a damn. And always bet against the empty slogans of Republicans who claim to be against terrorism, but do nothing to excommunicate–and everything to enable and promote–the pan-jihadists on their side of the aisle.

Yeah, this was a disaster of a thread post.

I would ask the mods to just pull it.

Debbie is a dolt -—she screeches over things that oft times are wrong or just out of date. tom Campbeel is NOT running for governor, which just shows what she pays attention to. We’ll see who the GOP in California nominate I am voting for De Vore but my guess is Fiorina

Yet more evidence that if it ends up being CFampbell vs. Fiorina that Fiorina is clearly the “less bad” choice.

I’m still hoping for McClintock or Issa to run (with whichever one doesn’t run for the Senate running for Governor instead).

As for Chuck DeVore, I like him on the issues, but he doesn’t yet have the profile or experience that would make him electable to the U.S. Senate from CA. I wish that he’d run for Lt. Gov. or Secretary of State instead, build up his stature and name-ID after a couple of years in the post, and then run for Feinstein’s seat in 2012.

She doesn’t like her because she’s an empty suit.

oh,...yeah, that’s it alright (snort!)...SP did more as Gov of AK than SchwartzenKennedy did in multiple terms! “empty suit” is not a description of SP, and if madmouth Deb used it, it’s because she is insanely jealous and can’t believe her ego doesn’t have a bigger following than a runner up beauty queen/point guard! If you are suggesting an empty suit, you need to read her book. FR gets more interesting everyday.

Sarah made the commitment to campaing before McLame had a primary opponent. Being loyal and showing that she is bigger than McLame is no bad thing.

I’d disagree...

There isn’t a better conservative with a state record on the horizon to run, and any conservative voters should get behind Chuck, give him full support and get rid of any notion of backing a failed business head or the most liberal Repub in CA, in mho...

ymmv

I respect your opinion, and agree that I’d rather run DeVore than Campbell or Fiorina, but

(i) If DeVore still can’t get into double digits in the polls I don’t think that he can win the primary even with the liberal and moderate vote being split,

and

(ii) if the week before the primary you have Campbell and Fiorina neck-and-neck and DeVore way behind with no chance of winning, I would rather vote for Fiorina and keep Campbell from winning than vote for DeVore and have Campbell win the nomination. Sometimes choosing the lesser of two evils results in a reduction of evil.

I would much rather, of course, have a first-tier conservative such as McClintock or Issa run and thereby send the two liberals packing.

As I said before, I think DeVore has a bright future, but it’s too soon for him to run for the Senate. 6 years as a state assemblyman is not enough experience for someone running for the Senate in a huge state like CA. I really wish that DeVore would run for something else so as to pad his résumé and build name ID to allow him to run for the Senate in the future (maybe in 2012 for Feinstein’s seat).

First of all, Tom is running for the Senate, and Chuck is running for Gov.

But .. besides that .. isn’t Tom Campbell the guy Hugh Hewitt was talking to the other day .. and Tom was head of some university (conservative) ..??

Or .. do I have him confused with somebody else ..??
