Ok...Manatee’s are neat animals....

Not if you live in my part of Florida and the enviro-goons, feds and the sentimental ninnies who enable them have put the clampdown on your area because of these useless creatures.

Moratoriums on dock building. Speed limits that make a formerly 15 minute ride into the gulf into 3 hour trek. Ridiculous building regulations and property rights restrictions. Enormous amounts of taxpayer money wasted. License plates etc.

Worst part is that this is an exotic species not native to the U.S. that should receive NO federal protection whatsoever.

It's too bad that every single one of them didn't turn into a block of ice and float off into the Wild Blue Yonder. We'd all be better for it.

Evolution has been trying to clean up that mistake for a long time, but we keep playing God. And yes, the irony in that statement was intentional.

From Bay News 9

The commission, which conducts a count every January, said this year’s numbers beat last year’s by more than 1,200.

The preliminary count totaled 5,067 manatees statewide. A team of 21 observers from 10 organizations counted 2,779 manatees on Florida’s East Coast and 2,288 on the West Coast

Surveyors said they’re glad the manatee population is stable — even growing — in most parts of the state.

“Counting this many manatees is wonderful news,” said FWC Chairman Rodney Barreto. “The high count this year shows that our long-term conservation efforts are working.”

Maybe the polar bears displaced from the Arctic by global warming have moved to now cold Florida and are eating the manatees. In any event its all Bush’s fault and clearly a heaven sent sign of the truth of the global warming dogma of St. Algore.

Well, at least there won’t be so many getting killed from getting hit by boats. What? someone had to say it.

“plus water temps didn’t change that much.....”

are you kidding? The temps in the Gulf got down into the 40’s and 50’s around Tampa Bay
