Watched it last evening. Was wholly unimpressed; sorry.

That’s a racist remark, Chris.
It struck me as more of a campaign speech than a direct response to the SOTU speech itself.
“Thats a racist remark, Chris.”
Posted to wrong spot??
I like his response. McDonnel looks relax, and upbeat. The setting is also great, much better than sitting alone in a studio or someone’s office.
The setting was a good choice. I think his response could have been recorded before the STOU speech since he didn’t
reference it specifically that I recall.
Yeah. It was an ok, not-at-all-specific speech. It was better than Jindal’s odd speech in which he spoke like he was addressing first graders. And, this may be silly, but McDonnell hair is 15-20% too neat and tidy. Making the speech in front of a crowd was a good idea though.
I thought I was watching one of McDonnell’s stump speeches to get elected govenor.
Watched it last evening. Fine example of the sort of positive rhetoric that got him elected last November.

Oops!
Watched it last evening. Was wholly unimpressed; sorry.......
I have no problem w his actual words but he looks brittle and weak and has a slight lisp. OK for governor but don’t run for president. I’m sure he’s a better man than I but that’s my first impression since I never saw him before.
0bama has made it so that image is more important than your actual real world accomplishments. Scott Brown won on image
Ultimately you beat an Obama with an Obama (These days at least)
It was a campaign speech - it was his try out for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, since Bobbie Jindal got the GONG for his speech last year
McDonnell is a lot more articulate than Scott Brown, more conservative, too, totally nonthreatening, not willing to rise to the low class race and class bashing bait of a punk like obama, just sticks to policy policy policy, limited govt limited govt limited govt, wonk wonk wonk
Bob McDonnell is steady and reassuring - and as stimulating as watching paint dry
“Bob” is what folks will be ready for in another 3 years, heck they are ready now
If Sarah campaigns for him she will add the fire and wit his campaign will need
I heard his bio and it was awesome! I agree he could be a great candidate. Perhaps he was a bit dry because of the hour he had to deliver his response.
Well again, don’t get me wrong. He truly seemed like a very decent guy and all that good and wonderful stuff.
Just seemed that more concrete GOP proposals/counters to Obama and crew could have been put forward and with some passion (no, no fist pumping or shouting). Just left me cold; that’s just me.
