One of the things that concerns me this that now, more than ever the Bambi Administration will cook the numbers as much as possible to tell a much different story with the "official" number. There is no way, the the shear number of local and state stories coming out about record jumps in Dec and Jan unemployment numbers that the national number can go down or even stay the same without the application of significant "obamanamics math".

Someone wasn’t tuned in to get the State of the Union report, things are actually looking up...He said so!

It sounds like all they need is just a leg of that “high-speed train” 0bama’s buying states off with.

Seems like just recently someone ventured that Hannable (sp?) Lector could draw more votes here than Obummer.

That’s what’s got me scratching my head...

How is it nearly every state in the union has jobless numbers well above 10% but somehow the official national unemployment figure never goes above 10.**%?

Things that make you go “hmmmmmm”.

Things have been looking grim here in the center of the state for awhile now. Personally, I have not had any meaningful employment since last June! And I am way past being selective. I’ve gone from engineer to hired handy man. And even that is sketchy.

It must be true. AP reported last week we are "in the sixth month of the "Recovery." It must be so. I sure feel recovered, don't y'all?

I’d like to know what the cross tabs on this are? I’m guessing the minority community must really be getting hammered.

I continue to believe that bad numbers are being hidden and minimized -- but only for a little while longer. In a few months time, the bad numbers may be exaggerated and ceaselessly talked about. Such a sudden and "unexpected" financial collapse around May or June might require that emergency powers be granted to the president.

I think he's absolutely capable of anything.

Heard on the news (Memphis) that Mississippi’s is approaching 11% this morning. Tennessee is using their stimus money to put in more phone lines (300 is not enough) for the unemployeed to call in. My son is only working 32 hrs and is lucky to have a job at all.

Now doesn’t TN have universal health care? Could that just possibly be part of the drag on the economy there?

Here on the Georgia coast, my Man On the Streets guesstimate is one in five jobless. Can’t find work, lost a job, ( sometimes several in a row ) or just gave up trying.

20%, in other words.

Among young black folks? Closer to 50%.

Hope. Change. Etc...
