here is too much of it, the legislators say, and it encourages people to drive instead of taking the bus, walking or riding a bike. All that motoring is contributing to traffic jams and pollution, according to state Sen. Alan Lowenthal (D-Long Beach), and on Thursday he won Senate approval of a proposal he hopes will prompt cities and businesses to reduce the availability of free parking.

"Free parking has significant social, economic and environmental costs," Lowenthal said. "It increases congestion and greenhouse gas emissions."

California is going bankrupt. The state cannot pay its bills. Yet California Democratic goons have declared war on the middle class. They want to ban free parking. After the single payer health care fiasco this week, you think they couldn't another low. Now they have. Liberal madness knows no limits!

Do the Cal legislators have free parking?”””

They & their staffs have lots of freebies.

Of course, this won’t apply to them!!!!

Next thing will be that employees cannot park off the street on their employer’s property for free, either.

What about people who park on the street near their apartment or house?

These fools in government are going to go too far someday.

Ride the train, get on the bus, or take your bike for a spin. Driving the private car is strictly verboten!

So they will hire a bunch of govt union workers to go out and patrol the meters. They won’t even get enough money to pay the union workers and their benefits, but they will gain more Rat voters.

Local codes and zoning ordinances require businesses to provide parking and require that the design and use fit arcane and socially beneficient space allowances and proximity to entrances; are they now proposing that the handicapped shopper walk to the store?

Funny, absolutely no discussion of how this is “regressive,” i.e., affects the poor more than the rich. Of course, they can fix that by charging you different rates for parking depending upon your income.

Steal from one person to purchase the vote of another. That is the only thing that a Dim is about.
