I took your advice at the time and voted for Hughes over Lowery, because he was the "highest polling candidate". In hindsight I wish I hadn't because he sucked royal balls as a candidate. Thought I'd ping the other people who voted for Hughes if they also realize this in hindsight. It appears you don't.

Seems that "peace" has been broken on the IL message boards.And it wasn't by me, it was by the "Obie was robbed!" crowd. Apparently a bunch of the freepers who said they would support Brady if he won the primary have gone back on their word and are now actively undermining him. A candidate who agrees with them 90% of the time and is the most conservative nominee we've had in 50 years is not good enough, they'd rather endlessly trash Brady for the 10% of the time he's wrong. And why is that? After Oberweis won the congressional nomination, did you see me rehashing his flip-flop on abortion or seedy relationship with Hastert? Did I tell people that Oberweis deserves to lose to Foster and that freepers should stay home because Oberweis betrayed us on so-and-so thing five years ago?
I dare you to find any such posts. Yet your gang is more than happy to join with Pat Quinn in trashing Brady. Conservatives were united after the primary, now a group of them has decided to open fire on our candidate. You failed to notice it was from your side.

I haven't forgotten that JIM OBERWEIS endorsed Judy Baar Topinka right after the primary (and campaigned for her), though all the Brady bashers like yourself seem to suffer sever amnesia about that little event -- since you've endlessly been attacking Brady about it over the last four years but said absolutely NOTHING when Oberweis DID THE EXACT SAME THING.
I'll assume it's amnesia, since we all know you wouldn't mercilessly scream "RINO" at Bill Brady for doing things you're perfectly tolerant of Jim Oberweis and Adam Andrejewski for. I did not, since Oberweis was doing the exact same thing you know it, as much as you'd like to pretend otherwise. You might notice, however, that Dr. Eric Wallace has pointedly NOT endorsed Mark Kirk, and certainly isn't running around stumping for him and calling him "our next Governor". And given how poor the "credible candidate" Patrick Hughes did, you think that might cause some of Patrick Hughes more ardent followers here to rethink their (once again) failed stragedy of shoving Dr. Wallace out of the race in favor of Hughes. . Perhaps THAT is why I singled out Hughes and not Brady. Alas, I have no doubt they're find some other zillionaire with zero campaign skills and DEMAND all conservatives vote for him in 2012, or we're traitors. Certainly not. Back in Feb. I hesitantly voted for Brady after seriously considering Dan Proft (this can be verified from numerous posts I made at the time-- not that facts matter to your looney accusations that Brady is my "God). But I will say Thank God I voted for Brady or Kirk Dillard might have won. I do regret my vote for "highest polling conservative" Hughes though. Of course if the Oberweis fan club believed their own advice that we all MUST vote for the "highest polling conservative", they'd regret their votes for Adam in this primary. But as 2010 proved, their "rules" only apply when the candidate they like is ahead (otherwise they would have demanded Adam get out and back Brady... as they laughably insist they would have done in 2006 if Brady had been ahead. Too bad when he really WAS ahead, they proved they're total liars and simply said anything to get people to vote Oberweis)

I already gave you the percentages and Don Lowery got far more than 1%. In fact, I believe he even won more counties than Hughes. And the "second place finisher" spent 10X as much as the third place guy and only did slightly better. What does that say about the "zillionaire = electable" theory? I'm sure it will go over your head. Just as the "RINO = electable" theory has been proven wrong time and time again but the GOP establishment keeps rolling out those "electable" Kirk types.

I could try explaining to that Hughes was specficially recruited as the "anti-Kirk candidate" and vowed to conservative activists that he wouldn't campaign for Kirk unless Kirk was willing to discuss the issues with him and meet conservatives halfway, but I'm sure the circumstances of the primary race will go over your head.

You and I had a separate e-mail conversation about burying the hatchet for a greater cause, yet you choose to pick a fight for no reason whatsoever. I have done nothing but support and praise Bill Brady since he won. At no point have I ever brought up Oberweis since the nomination; in fact, you will find posts by me ENCOURAGING Oberweis supporters to get on board the current ticket. Stop blaming me for what other people do.

You did. You dug-up some old post about uniting to defeat Mark Kirk, and tried to turn in into an in-your-face attack for uniting behind the “wrong” Conservative. Then I point out that Hughes did exactly what Brady did last election, and you start talking about Oberweis as if he either has anything to do with this election or somehow made Bill Brady endorse Topinko. Then you decide your attack was justified BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT ME have pissed you off.
It was right to support Hughes, because he was the Conservative with the best shot at beating Kirk. He, like Brady before him, endorsed the primary winner of the contest he lost when the race was over. You CANNOT blast Hughes for doing so and at the same time NOT blast Bill Brady. And that has nothing to do with Oberwies, Lowery, or Dr. Eric Wallace, or the price of tea in China.
I have put in several hours helping Brady and Plummer, and will probably put in dozens more in the closing weeks. You don’t seem to know the difference between allies and enemies. Some Oberweis supporters are pissing you off? Take it up with them, not me.
