STATEN ISLAND, Ny., Jan. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today on the conviction of Scott Roeder in the murder of abortion doctor George Tiller.

"Violence is antithetical to the pro-life movement," said Fr. Pavone, "which is why Priests for Life is part of the vast chorus of pro-life groups condemning the killing of George Tiller.  On the other hand, violence is the practice of the abortion industry, which kills real people in the womb every day.  Moreover, abortion advocates have done numerous acts of violence against pro-life people, and I receive death threats several times a month.  It would be nice to hear abortion advocacy groups condemn these things once in a while."

Priests for Life is the nation's largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.

Morally inconsistent. If someone is wrongfully taking innocent life, violence may be necessary to stop them. Either abortion is murder or it’s not. If it is, we should act upon that beliefe. I wish I had the courage this guy did.

Agreed .. Fr. Pavone has his place and so does Scott Roeder. Roeder will be remembered in 50 years as another John Brown , John Brown was spoken of the same way by abolitionists.

George Tiller killed innocent babies were were days away from being born and Scott Roeder shot an unarmed man in the back while he was in church. There are no heroes in this case.

He mentions violence as if it is the gravest evil. Violence for defense of the lives of the innocent is good if other methods do not work.

....and we haven't found out, and maybe never will find out, how many innocents who were saved by Scott Roeder's actions.

How many "doctors" who did abortions and how many "doctors" thinking about doing abortions quit, deciding that it is not worth the risk and walked away from the dirty job.

I know there are a lot fewer abortion clinics than before.

“”Violence is antithetical to the pro-life movement,””
With all due respect, Padre; Bullshit!
Righteous violence has saved a hell of a lot more lives than you and your group have or ever will.

Ditto, FRiend....lots of folks think this way, too, but are too chickens#1t to admit it.

If taking the life of one saves the lives of many, it’s well worth it!
