Washington Journal - C-Span

Posted on 01/30/2010 5:00:18 AM PST by azlinda

Perhaps Conservatives and Republicans should start jamming the C-Span Democrat phone lines just like the Democrats do. This morning was a prime example when the discussion was regarding Obama's appearance before the Republicans yesterday. The C-Span host let obvious Democrats ramble on about the greatness of Obama when he had already announced they called in on the Republican line. They let one Republican through - the very last caller. They definitely got an email from me. They need a new call screener, and they definitely need hosts that will not allow speakers to continue talking when they are obviously calling on the wrong line. There was not one person allowed on this morning who would call Obama an idealogue, which was obvious from his appearance yesterday.

It happens EVERY morning on their open phones segment. I’m convinced all the callers are SEIU and ACORN members. Some of them are obviously reading. I’m sure the DNC faxes them talking points each morning, but some of the callers are too dumb to put it in their own words.

Maybe if Cspan listed the numbers as Pro-Obama and Anti-Obama it might improve. Right now I cringe when the caller starts out with, “I was a lifelong Republican but...”

What I found amusing on that obviously biased but ‘fair’ liberal propaganda outlet was when a caller would call in one day as a Republican on one day, the as a Democrate the next, and then as an Independant on another - the same southern black accent with the same words pronounced the same way.

CSPAN is Sesamie Street for adults.

I stopped watching that lame program about a year after they put in the separate lines (like ten years ago?). Since then, democraps jam all the lines and the hosts don't do anything to mitigate the bad behavior.

I always wanted them to say, "well, that democrat caller broke the rules and called in on the republican line, so now we'll take three republican calls before we go back to the democrat line."

I didn't think anyone but Democraps even watched it anymore.

I also quit watching after C-SPAN went to their current system. When they took calls on a first come, first serve basis, nearly all of the calls were from conservatives, who constituted most of their audience. I doubt that any more liberals watch the channel now, but Media Matters and other far left wing organizations make sure that Democrats are overrepresented in the callers who get airtime.

I have watched c-span to be informed and learn something.
It is difficult to learn much when the callers are having a love affair with Mr. Superior and hate anyone who questions
his policies.

I had to turn the channel, it made me nervous that the GOP made a big mistake inviting Obama. He standing above them, they not challenging his answers, I believe it hurt the GOP and helped Obama. Seminar callers or not, people who call CSPAN, radio talk shows are politically active. I hope the GOP did not lose some momentum by airing that Q and A session.

As for CSPAN, Pedro really gave the Dem callers more time, as he always does, but I really believe the GOP will wimp out, will reach across the aisle as they have now been scolded to do and blow the November elections. I do not want bipartisanship, that equates to giving the Dems everything they want, but no doubt, the Republicans will blow this.

The affirmative action phone lines ended it for me, as well. The union seminar callers hog all the lines and spout the talking points of the day.

Before that when calls were taken first-com, first-served, C-Span was taking a LOT of heat that the Republican view was vastly overrepresented. They were basically bullied into adopting the affirmative action system. The bullies won.

I've said for years the DNC has a boiler room phone bank of 9 or 10 people constantly trying to get through on call ins. Probably make $9 an hour, and get a $50 “bonus” every time they get on the air.

CSPIN has long been a tool of the left.

I also, it became rampant during the Clinton run for President and thereafter.
I actually miss the program as it used to be. Cannot remember but think they used to list call in as to time zones, or whatever. When they went political, downhill all the way.
