SANFORD -- The U.S. government has ordered flights bringing injured earthquake victims into Florida from Haiti to stop after officials said Florida hospitals have stopped accepting patients.
Gov. Charlie Crist, however, had a different story.

Funny how Cuba’s “great” health care system isn’t absorbing these people... you know, just to show how “better” it is than ours.
Yeah. Where’s Michael Moore on this issue? (barf)
If GWB were still president, how would the MSM be reporting this? And might we have Dem politicians standing on the steps of the Capitol and screaming at the top of their lungs?
Exactly, where is Cuba, Venezuela and the other socialist paradises of the hemisphere? Rest assured Gov Crist, none of the Haitians you accept will ever go home. Plan on it.
I saw a report on this last night, and the problem is 300 or so seriously injured Haitian patients that have flooded nearly every trauma center in Florida. Governor Crist is not being inhumane, but the residents of Florida have first dibs on their hospitals, not Haitians.
In addition, these people’s treatment is being paid for by the State of Florida. The costs are huge and getting bigger by the day.
This is what Rush Limbaugh meant when he said that if you have paid your Federal (and State) taxes, then you have already contributed (heavily) to the Haitian relief effort. When an Air Force C-17 lands at Miami International Airport with 30-40 seriously injured people, they are being whisked away for treatment at the Federal and Florida taxpayer’s expense.
The flights are going to other sites on the US Eastern Seaboard too, so stand by...
Once again the goodwill of the American people is being taxed to the extreme. Not only are we being solicited to provide hundreds of millions in charitable relief, but the Feds committed hundreds of millions of TAXPAYER dollars, too. The rest of the world needs to step up. Paltry sums from industrialized Europe only drive the wedge between us even further.
Cuba has touted their wonderful healthcare system for years. Michael Moore even championed their system. Where is Cuba in all this mayhem? Absent...
We cannot afford to bear the brunt of the world’s disaster recovery efforts on our own, lonely shoulders anymore. It’s time to say, “No More. We feel deeply for the pain and suffering of these people, but we cannot and will not do this alone.”
Cold hearted? To many folks...probably. The right thing to do? Absolutely.
It appears that now that the initial attention is gone, Haiti is reverting back to anarchy.
It is unfortunate.
A. Yes - 86%
B. No - 13%
Way to go Central Florida!
Odd how liberals care “oh so much” about Muslim prisoners in Gitmo - but ignore Cuban political prisoners who lose their teeth from malnutrition. Where do that double standard come from?
If the Feds expect the hospitals to eat the financial cost of treating these patients, they are nuts.
I am for Rubio not Crist but Gov. Crist called Sebelius to get more funds under an existing disaster fund and instead of aiding Crist, BHO and Sebelius set Crist up to make it sound like Crist was refusing flights into Florida. Barack Obama would set up his own grandmother if need be.
