Israel has 100,000 - 300,000+ illegal immigrants in a population of 5.5 million Jews and 1.5 million Muslims. Compare to 100k-300k in a state like Virginia or maybe Wisconsin. There’s no will to do much about them in Israel either.

Not completely true, thought Israel does have an immigrant problem. They're building a wall to keep out African illegals crossing the Sinai. Not popular in some parts of the world, but Egypt is fine with it. Though they kill the illegals, problem solved. We should do the same thing, build a wall. Monitor it. Beyond that, those who've been there, or here, working for a long period of time. Letting them stay is one thing, citizenship, including children, quite another. Shouldn't be on the table.

...The municipality of Tel Aviv, where most of the immigrant workers live, together with about 17,000 refugees mainly from Darfur and Eritrea, provides free health care and day care for children, including vaccinations and education.

Adult health services are provided by Physicians for Human Rights. The Hotline for Migrant Workers has people on call 24/7 to provide welfare and legal advice.

“Whoever is in our territory deserves our services,” deputy mayor Yael Dayan tells TIME. “It’s not a question of grace, it’s really a question of right. It’s not doing them a favor and it’s not how moved we are by these little children. They have added a lot to Tel Aviv society in many ways.”
