Just putting 2+2 together. Notice how the liberal media isn’t reporting anything about the meeting except for the “courtesy call” spin?
Something big is up and the Israelis are not communicating to the U.S. through normal channels now. With good reason, of course given the makeup of Obama’s administration and their loyalities/sympathies to enemy foreign powers.
I would expect that Israel has told Obama that he will receive no more than 15 minutes notice of when the strikes on Iran will begin, if that.
Jim, until this thread I didn’t know about the meeting myself, I like to think no news slips by me
Stupid Geraldo on nada on FNC
There's no accounting for Obama's monumental ineptitude and poor judgment, but (I would think that) the practical necessity of a combined (Israel + U.S.) strike is pretty compelling. Taking the heat for complicity with Israel would be far less damaging than suffering the retaliations (which we would be subject to anyway) from an insufficiently neutralized Iran.
Possibly the U.S. role would not include striking at the nuke sites, but would focus on suppressing Iranian retaliatory capabilities.
If the Israelis are absolutely insistent, it would be insane to let them do it alone. Iran is a huge country, sits right on the Persian gulf, etc. I'm no military or strategic expert, but I just can't imagine that Israel, notwhithstand their impressive capabilities, have anything like the resources to handle both the necessary offensive and defensive/suppressive/preemptive aspects of a mission like this.
