Free James O'Keefe
The American Spectator ^ | 2/1/10 | Ben Stein

Posted on 02/01/2010 6:28:09 PM PST by CondoleezzaProtege

These men were journalists trying to get a story. They didn't even touch a phone as far as I can learn. They were undercover reporters and TV operators. But that doesn't matter. Their real crime was disturbing the peace and quiet of the nation's liberal establishment and embarrassing ACORN. For this, these young overeager guerrilla journalists are charged with a federal crime. ("First Amendment? What's that?")

Meanwhile, no charges against those thugs with the clubs at the polling place.

Does this give you the feeling that maybe the prison orange for Mr. O'Keefe and his pals is a mark of courage and honor and that the rest of us should be shivering about what the Obama Justice Department thinks is law? When was the last time you read about federal charges against a liberal reporter for going undercover? The behavior of the feds here is not just worrisome. It is something beyond that. But, Mr. Holder, here is a line from the civil rights struggle I worked in before you were born: We are not afraid. And we're not going away.

I just saw James O'Keefe on Sean Hannity.

O'Keefe's crime is showing up the drive by media as lazy, neo Communist bums.

The drive by media also tried to recall the glory days of Watergate by idiotically claiming O'Keefe was going to bug Landrieu's phones.

For what O'Keefe did to the drive by media he should get life /sarcasm

There are those who believe Eric Holder didn't solve the Carl Cooper case by convincing a part time low level breakin artist to admit to the White House Intern /Starbucks murders.

By now they may well have figured out how Eric does business ~

Eric Holder belongs in the mob, not the Justice Department.

Who says he’s _NOT_ in the mob? And what better place for the mob to have a man than as the AG?

To the American left, O’Keefe will always be guilty of trying to wiretap Landrieu’s office. Similarly, Dick Cheney and Scooter Libby leaked Valerie Plame’s identity as a CIA agent to try to discredit Joe Wilson, Sarah Palin said that she could see Russia from her house, and Bush served a fake turkey to American troops in Iraq.

He belongs to something ~ and he should go back to it ~ one of those discussion groups at a mental health facility.

Just remember, Carl Cooper "confessed" to murdering 5 people down the street from the White House only after Eric and his friends had concocted a story to send Carl's wife and mother (I believe, or maybe his mother in law) to prison for life.

They're out ~ and quiet ~ and he's in the can.

The truth of the story depends on the existence of a couple of guns that "weren't where he said they were" ~ and they haven't shown up in any other crimes ~ over a decade later!

So, what did Eric do with the guns?

I smell a rat here.

Did the left or the government infiltrate O’Keefe and his group?

Was O’Keefe being watched by the government, maybe even Janet’s Homeland Security?

wouldn't be surprised...but it's pretty clear O'keefe is telling the truth here and he deserves our full support. many conservative higher-ups and members of the establishment have distanced themselves from him. we cannot allow for the leftist media to dictate our activism efforts.

OK I’ll go out on a limb.

Charges against the Landrieu Four will be dropped.

Holder will be back at Covington & Burling very soon.

I don’t recall many folks on the left getting
their panties in a twist over the Sandy “Burgler”
stunt several years back. Anyone know how that
incident played out?

Anyone in NOLA. Check out the Archives of the Picayune regarding the Landreau clan and the property that was flooded during Katrina. Keep in mind that papa was head of HUD (he set it up) during the Carter years.

IIRC 90% of the houses lost in Katrina were rental (many HUD rentals) own by a handful of real estate corporations...
Wonder who owned those corporations? mmm mmm mmm

I didn’t see Hannity...what did O’Keefe say he was doing? He wanted to go in their office and see if he could get a dial tone? Or what?

I must admit that I’ve put that case on the back burner in my mind, so many things have happened since. But I followed it closely here on FR for some time.

I would agree with you that the solution was very fishy indeed. A lot of loose ends. And it seemed plausible to me that it happened because Drudge mentioned that clinton was mixed up with an intern, but hadn’t yet given the name of the intern in question. So they got the wrong one.

Clinton worked with the Dixie Mafia and Obama works with the Chicago Mafia. I thought that there was some competition between those two groups, but it’s amazing how many of clinton’s former operatives joined the new team. Amazing to me, at least.

Well, Bobby Kennedy was the son of a Chicago mobster, and both Kennedys had mob connections. So it wouldn’t be new to the Justice Department.

Didn’t Briebart say they have other videos to be released before the election..they need to discredit O’Keefe before he plays them.
