At the end of 2008, Arnold Schwarzenegger launched "Bank on California", a CA state program that encouraged the "unbanked" to open bank accounts. Since the "unbanked" are largely illegal aliens and since their wages are earned illegally, California's governor is using state resources to help private companies profit from illegal activity. Note also that the program is open [1] to those using Mexico's Matricula Consular card. That card is a strong indicator that the bearer is an illegal alien.

Now, according to this, an affiliated local effort called "Bank on Santa Ana" (bankonsantaana.ca.gov) has begun, and one of the groups running the local effort is the United Way of Orange County.

In other words, a United Way chapter is helping banks profit from money that was earned illegally.

Please contact unitedwayoc.org/contact/contact.asp and liveunited.org/contact with your thoughts. Please also send this link to your networks and encourage everyone to contact the United Way and let them know you know what they're up to.

OOH! The United Way involved in the same things that The United Way always does.

The United Way preceded ACORN, and has been consistantly both a money funnel and advocate for lefits embezzlers as well as leftist causes.

How is there any news here?

What? The United Way sneaking around the edges of ethics? I’m shocked, shocked I tell you!

My goal is to have an impact on the program, and one way to help that is to force United Way to turn against them. If enough people cared about things like this even half as much as they do about less important things, it might happen. Unfortunately, the previous two comments have the impact of dissuading people from doing something as simple as filling out a web form.

Never donate at work through the United Way. Too much of the donation goes to overhead.

Give to the charity of your choice directly.
