Joseph: [desperately] Look at all those woman entering the abortion clinic! Mary: [pleadingly, as she fingers her rosary] Oh Joseph! Who will save them? Joseph: Look! Getting out of the beater-van, with all the cool bumper stickers! Mary: [squinting] It's a bishop! Joseph: [peering intently] It's a saint! Together: [realizing, then rejoicing] No, it's... LIFEMAN! Like most boys, I went through the superhero stage, and enjoyed my share of Superman and Batman comics until books about sports superstars (the sanitized kid versions, that is) replaced them. Now that I'm grown up (and read stories about Christ and His saints) I fight the battle for the unborn, and wonder (with the passing of Mother Teresa and John Paul II) if there are any pro-life heroes left. And then I remember that gallant figure in the often goofy costumes, who (when he's not in jail) is always on the front lines doing anything and everything to save the babies; the guy I like to call "Lifeman," the one and only Randall Terry.

I don’t know much about Randall Terry except for his public and unabashed defense of the innocent unborn children. I have much to repent of myself over the course of a life where there were many years of “rioutous living” - a sinner, indeed, and none of us are made perfect in this life. My 3rd and last divorce happened in 1994 and I have since then lived alone and focused only on my kids as far as any kind of “personal life”. So, if the guy made mistakes which resulted in sin of which he has made amends and repentance, let it go. God has. I sure don’t want to carry the burden of my sins. So, yes, I agree with you that even a “once cracked vessel” can carry the water if that’s what God wants. I know that with me, God had to go around and collect all the pieces from far and wide before He could begin His work on me. I was far more than just “cracked”.
I’m not pure enough to call Randall Terry out on his adultery (for which he’s been forgiven!). Evidently the pro-aborts can? There’s too much division amongst pro-lifers who want the same eventuality. And who do you think causes that? My guess is that it is Satan.
Forgiven by whom? Mrs. Cindy Terry?
"Another bone of contention is Randall's claims that pro-abortion forces stripped him of everything he owned, down to his frequent flyer miles. But in fact, Randall declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy to avoid the financial impact of the court judgments against him and to escape from the 38 separate creditors (many credit card companies) that he had taken money from (as an aside, the Bible calls this theft). The pro-abortion movement then turned their attention to his ex-wife, Cindy. By declaring bankruptcy, Randall left her holding the bag. Cindy Terry ended up having to sell her home to cover her ex-husband's bankruptcy debts, though he has failed thus far to reciprocate: none of the money that he has raised over the past year to "restore" himself to financial health has been passed on to help Cindy and his daughter, Faith, recover the losses they incurred as a result of his bankruptcy.
Even though she had never spoken publicly about their divorce or his non-payment of child support, Cindy Terry spoke with WORLD Magazine, pleading for the Christian community to stop supporting Randall. 'I don't want to see any more donors misled,' she said....
'Giving more money to Randall Terry is like giving booze to an alcoholic,' -- Flip Benham, Executive Director, Operation Save America."
"Let's just Move On!" was not a good argument for addressing Bill Clinton's adulteries and deceptions; so it's not a good argument for addressing Randall Terry's, either.
Let him retire from the public spotlight and spend his days volunteering quietly and anonymously at crisis pregnancy centers. He can still do much good (he just won't get TV coverage for it, boo-hoo); and perhaps more importantly, stop reminding pro-lifers (to our dismay) and pro-aborts (to their glee) of his own public scandals.
It just goes to show -- you needn't look to self-appointed "leaders" like Randall Terry; just do it alone, person to person. Advice that perhaps Mr. Terry himself should heed.
Randall Terry may have made confession to a Catholic priest after realizing that the Protestant church didn't much want him back, but that hardly absolved him of the moral responsibility to make restitution to his faithful ex-wife whom he has wronged so greivously by his actions.
Leviticus 6: 4-5 -- Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.
Tell you what: when Randall Terry restores to his ex-wife all the financial damage he has done to her, then maybe I'd be able to consider such restitution a show of good faith worthy of a former "leader" in the pro-life cause.
But not until then.
Terry's past sins (not "indiscretions") have done great spiritual and material damage to his ex-wife.
It would be morally appropriate for this "oh-so-very-much-reformed" Present Day Randall Terry, of whom you speak, to seek to make restitution to this injured woman -- don't you think?
I understand. I do not deny that Terry can be an inspiring writer, on several causes that I support. I just think he should at least try to show a little good faith, and maybe make some attempt to clean up some of his past messes. (I mean, with the people he’s actually hurt and defrauded, not just his own priest).
Obviously, they haven't been able to stop abortion by being subtle, so why knock someone for making the PROMOTERS of killing babies face themselves in the mirror?
I didn't see any pregnant pro death demonstrators there, so the only reason they could possibly be there is to see that other people kill their own babies.
Do you really think you can sit down and have a rational discussion with that type of monster?
I commend "Lifeman" for his efforts in deligitamalizing the skanks ~ he obviously got under their skin, and They Ran From The Truth.
Thanks for the ping, mlizzy.
Hi Thomas. Randall Terry here. Thank you for the kind (and funny) piece about me, and thanks for throwing some punches out there...trying to protect my back.
Whoever the Christian_Capitalist is, he is a false witness. What I mean by that is that he is a slanderer, which is something God hates. I did not - contrary to the rumor mill - commit adultery, nor did I leave my wife for another woman. It is simply a lie.
In case you ever have to get in this type of tussle again, please go to www.Operationrescuetheft.com and read two key documents; one is False Witnesses; the second is “Mr. Terry’s priest and six pro-life veterans respond to false accusations and internet rumors about Mr. Terry.”
These men have been with me through thick and thin, and answer these charges one by one.
One other point - and this is to all the rumormongers - who are you? You do not even have the courage to use your real name in cyberspace. Most of you have no idea what a blessing it is to be hated, reviled, falsely accused, imprisoned, threatened, mocked, vilified, etc. (See Matthew 5:10-12) Most of the press I get is BAD PRESS, but the whole point of it is to keep child-killing in the news. I would love for YOU to get out there in your area, create a fuss over child-killing; make the child-killers miserable; act like real babies are really being ripped apart limb from limb. I will be very, very happy to see others in the news, getting the hell beat out of them for the sake of the children. And I’m sure the babies would appreciate it as well.
Our mission is to end legalized child-killing; the question is this: How do we get from here to there in the shortest time? One key part of that struggle involves controversy, protests, etc., which means social tension, and bad press. (Study Dr. King and the civil rights movement.)
If you read the above links, and have any questions, I may answer you, but only if you have the dignity to use your real name.
God have mercy on us all.

Mr. Terry, I do not wish to be a slanderer. If you would like to correct me, I would ask: On what basis did you divorce Mrs. Cindy Terry?
I've never read a very clear explanation on that subject.
