GOP rock star Scott Browns victory train rolled into Southie last night where the senator-elect hoisted a frosty beer with a local radio host to live up to one his first campaign promises.
We made a bet and they said if they endorsed me and I won then wed have to get together for a few beers, Brown, a Wrentham Republican, said at The Stadium in South Boston last night. After it was over, they called and reminded me.
Brown, who drove himself to the pub in his now-legendary green GMC Canyon truck, turned the beer summit with WAAF [website]-FM (107.3) morning man Greg Hill into a charity event, raising $6,000 for Homes for Our Troops, a Taunton-based charity that builds handicapped-accessible houses for soldiers injured in combat.
In addition to chatting with Hill and his radio sidekicks, Brown sipped a Bud Light draft and talked politics with 10 WAAF raffle winners.
Politicians tend to lie but heres Scott Brown and one of the first campaign promises he made and hes living up to it, Hill said. A lot of people are looking at him to go to Washington as a true outsider . . . and my hope is he can go there and really make a difference.
Of the hoopla surrounding his underdog win to succeed iconic Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Brown said, Its been fun but at some point the lights are going to dim.
Im humbled and honored to serve the people of Massachusetts and looking forward to getting down there and doing my job, Brown added.
Brown will be sworn in Feb. 11. (((OOOPS .. moved up to TOMORROW .. Feb. 4th!!!)
CANDIDATE COMES THROUGH: Sen.-elect Scott Brown quaffs a Bud Light with WAAF morning man Greg Hill last night at The Stadium in South Boston. Brown promised the staff he would have a beer with them if he beat Martha Coakley in the special election.
~~PING!
I think Brown will live up to his promises. I hope he realizes the spirit and strength of the people who put him into office.
Pundits will:
1- Knock him for drinking and driving
2- Poke fun at the Kennedy beverage legacy

I think not, David Wedge. Currently, I have higher expectations than that.
Bud Light? I thought they were talking about beer.
Yes. I’m happy if he doesn’t fill Teddy’s shoe. :-)
Pundits will:
1- Knock him for drinking and driving
2- Poke fun at the Kennedy beverage legacy
3- Remind us that REAL MEN don’t drink light beer!
I’m not putting a lot of faith in Senator Brown, not because I don’t like him, but because looking at the guy to save the world is putting way too much responsibility on him

OK .. how ‘bout putting some faith in the fact
that a stunning political earthquake took place
in the sanctified seat held by Kennedy for 47
years in a notable, forever BLUE state?
How ‘bout that this breathtaking and totally
unpredictable event is the obstacle .. perhaps
the ONLY possible obstacle at all that could
occur ..that can change and prevent the dims’
push to total governmental socialist transformation
of every single aspect of our lives ?
That’s just for starters ...
My faith in the American people and the power of
prayer is so rejuvenated.
Sam Adams would have been more fitting than Bud Lite.
I agree. Just saying we shouldn’t put our entire reiance on Sen. Brown to do it all.
That word was supposed to be “reliance” not “reiance.” I had better get back to work. My spell check capabilities are lacking.
We have a slew of Washington fat cats up for re-election this year. Scott Brown was a good start, but we have to keep up the pressure, particularly by unloading the arrogant deadwood and having those who will actually represent all Americans, not just a few. We just cannot rest on our laurels. This may be the only way to keep this country the way it was intended by our Founding Fathers to be. As it is now, we are in danger of losing the America we love.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
Who is doing that ?? The guy has yet to be
seated.
Jeeze .. give the guy and us a chance to revel
a bit in this historic Godsend and what it could
portend for our country’s good before being so
quick to throw cold water. (I said could.)
op-ti-mism
Show Spelled Pronunciation [op-tuh-miz-uhm]
noun
1. a disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome.
He honors our troops - Lt. Col. Brown is one of them, so he understands and appreciates the sacrifices they make.
I agree. Certainly more real support than from our president.
I'm all for giving Senator Brown a chance to prove himself. He may indeed do well as Senator, but it's too early to tell. God, I pray he does tell his party and the others to get stuffed...that he will be his own man and represent everyone who elected him, not just a chosen few and not according to the party line. But just so we all are well aware that Senator Brown's election is not the end of it. We have to keep on keeping on.
Sparky1776, ya gotta see this !!!!
THANK YOU, STARWISE!!!!
