Obama aunt girds for new bid to avoid deportation

BOSTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenya native who once cared for his siblings, defied a deportation order in 2004 and became a political liability for her famous nephew, is preparing to make her case in federal Immigration Court that she be allowed to stay in the United States.

Zeituni Onyango, 57, is expecting to make her second bid for political asylum Thursday before an immigration judge in Boston and could potentially argue that her relationship to the president would make her a political target in Kenya's unstable political climate.

"She wants to stay in this country so bad," said Mike Rogers, a spokesman for her attorney.

There is no “legal process” for her to immigrate at this point other than the asylum application....which is a load of BS. She should have been taken into custody by ICE when she failed to leave after her last hearing. This asylum claim should be denied by the Immigration Judge.

This is what you get when, politicians in BOTH PARTIES, value Illegal Alien rights over American citizen rights....Illegal Aliens who mooch of the system, and refuse to follow US law.

Now, we have a relative of the President who is an Illegal Alien. Chances are, they will let her stay. If they cannot deport thugs from MS-13...how are they gonna deport a black woman from Kenya who is the President’s aunt.

I’ll say it again,he wants her gone. Its embarrassing to him and only after shes gone can he try and push through illegal immigration reform because he will,the way he thinks,have established his bona fides.

I just finished reading ‘Dreams of My Father’ (bought it used for a $1) almost all his relatives in Kenya were begging him for money and she was one of them! Now she’s begging for more. His half-sister Auma, seemed like the only one with their head screwed on straight.

As an officer of the court he knew his aunt was here illegaly way back when...he should be disbarred foraiding and abetting in a crime.

If Bam was a caring relative he could set up a single fund for all his Kenyan relatives. He could easily fund it for $50 to $100/k (himself and /or donors). Share that among his relatives and be done with it plus it help them over there! Makes too much sense plus he doesn’t really care.

One line in the book I found laughable was while at Columbia “he wanted to be a writer, not a politician”

Writing is a practiced craft....very few people wake up one day and write a whole novel especially while practicing law full time. He just doesn’t seem to be that disciplined.

If you want to be a writer don’t you normally major in English, literature, history, etc...not PoliSci and write your thesis on Soviet Nuclear disarmament....just saying.

BTW, isn’t Bill Ayers an English professor at UI-C?
