If you cannot understand the difference between Affirmative Action in college admissions or employment, or civil rights as to voting, housing, accommodations and employment as mandated by law, compared to an personal donation to an umbrella organization that oversees scholarships for minority students, there is little hope. In that case, you’d best stay away from any IQ comparisons.

Since you think you are so clever than tell me this--
Is it illegal to establish "whites only" college scholarships?

Also make a case for someone who immigrates here getting on the affirmative action gravy train. Are you even aware of the original justifications for affirmative action and which groups it was limited to? Give it a shot Mr Hi IQ

I dont know how legal it is, but Im guessing its perfectly so. After all, when its your money, shouldnt it be your choice to give it to whomsoever you may want?

There used to be tons of whites only college scholarships that were revised to include everyone. Revised due to pressure and perhaps for legal reasons too. I wonder what the laws are on this

These were privately endowed scholarships same as these Gates scholarships

In Podberesky v. Kirwan, 38 F.3d 147 (4th Cir. 1994), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit considered a challenge to the University of Maryland's Banneker Scholarship program, a merit-based scholarship for which only black students were eligible. Daniel J. Podberesky, a Hispanic student, qualified for the Banneker Scholarship in all respects but race. He sued the university, alleging that the scholarship program discriminated on the basis of race. The university countered that the program was designed to remedy the institution's own past discrimination, which had led to the underrepresentation of black students at the university. The court held that the Banneker program violated the Fourteenth Amendment because it was not narrowly tailored to remedy the effects of the university's past discrimination.

My son qualifies as African-American, but you’d never know it unless you’ve met his mother. Soon, he’ll be of age to qualify for this scholarship.

I read an interesting article on Obama that analyzed him as Arab, being only really 6.25% African. It used to be that any minority was determined by 12.5% of that minority heritage. Amazingly, race is now (and very recently) exclusively self-declared, so the kid is in!
