And I don't care. There are billions of dollars of scholarships available to students, many are never used, all of them have exclusions of some sort.

This is a private foundation from a private person, he can make whatever exclusions he wants.
This is not housing, or employment or police protection or military service it is private money by a private individual.

However, not all legal uses of private property are admirable. George Soros, for instance, is using his private property to try and destroy the US.
Yes, it’s Gates’ money, and he can use it as he likes. And if he uses it to further injustice or some other unfortunate consequence, people like me can criticize him for it.
