We had 18inches of snow in early December (Madison), and the big grocery stores were open. I drove to one in the Subaru at the height of the storm. I called beforehand to see if they were open, the reply was: “ we don’t close for anything.” WISCONSIN.

Here in yer stomping grounds it started snowing around 3:30 and hasn’t let up since. But there’s only about 2” on the ground so it has been light so far...

It’s been a pretty cold winter, but not a great deal of snow so far. We’ve given it all to you guys it seems. And now Erie is frozen, so the lake effect is out the door for the rest of the season....

This system dumped some rain in South Florida tonight but is clearing out, paving the way for what should be a dry and coolish Super Bowl game Sunday night.

I am going to say this knowing the flames will start but here goes. The reason for more snow is a warming in the southern tropics of the water which puts more moisture in the air that travels north and produces more snow. It is the conjecture of Darrel Mccanna that this warming and cooling will produce a new iceage read his book not by fire but by ice.

So lucky here just West of Middleburg, VA. Have a borrowed 4x4 Quadrunner with a snow plow. Have tacked it a couple of times to keep the snow manageable. We have over 16” so far @ 10:30pm.
