We reside in the FFX County, Mt. Vernon area of N.VA. We have about 18” and still snowing. We lost our power in the middle of the night for 6 hours and now it is back on! Kudos to Dominion Power.
Watching the morons on TV who are outside in this weather and have no business being outside, unless you are essential/emergency personnel. These non-essential morons are just making the situation worse. STAY INSIDE.
Pat Collins of News Channel 4 interviewed an individual who walked 3 miles in this horrendous storm just to cash in on a coupon for a free sandwhich at a Giant on Connecticut Ave, NW. She got lost twice on the way home. What an idiot. When did common sense leave our society!!! STOOOOPID people.
I saw sandwich girl on TV, too. Plus the woman with plastic trash sacks tied to her legs. What a way to get your 15 minutes. That must be a hell of a sandwich to walk six miles. And they never did say what kind of sammich it is.
I don’t need to watch the TV to see the morons. I can just look at my front door and see the guys who’ve spent hours shoveling the road so that 2 cars could get back into the neighborhood.
Hey genius - you’re in the neighborhood now. Leave the cars along the curb. Walk the 50 yards home.
Then (around 9:00 am) along come about 3-4 so-called adults with a couple of grade school age kids and their dogs walking down almost in the middle of the road and basking in Mother Nature's winter wonderland. I thought, how stupid. A driver still had to be careful on the road and what if they hit an icy spot and skidded.
Sounds like an idiot, but... my late husband, a Michigan boy, liked to walk in all kinds of weather. This lady’s coupon would have just given him an excuse to go out in the weather for a walk.
Getting lost on Connecticut Ave takes some doing though. Why not just walk straight down Connecticut and then make a turn on your street? How do you get lost in DC? (DC native speaking here)
