WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's top counterterrorism adviser says he's tired of lawmakers and others criticizing the administration's actions concerning the Christmas airliner plot.
John Brennan says some in Washington are using national security as ''political football'' for partisan purposes. He says they're trying to micromanage the case with a ''500-mile screwdriver'' that stretches from the Capitol to the scene of the attack in Detroit.

The Dems simply cannot accept the fact that people with legitimate and very different policy views are not just troublemakers. They never figured that out on Obamacare and they are not figuring it out on national defense. Everything is politics to these guys. They know how to get elected. They just don’t know how to govern.

The Christmas Day attempt, in which AbdulMutallab allegedly failed to detonate explosives sewn into his underwear on a U.S. airliner, showed the effectiveness of U.S. efforts to deter large-scale attacks since the September 11, 2001, use of hijacked planes to crash into the World Trade Center and Pentagon, he said.
“It showed how difficult it is for al Qaeda to carry out large-scale attacks,” Brennan said. Instead, the group now uses individual operatives to try to carry out smaller attacks, he said.

Gee Brennan, what’s to criticize? al Qaeda gets on a plane and nearly succeeds in blowing it up and Holder gets him a lawyer. The Kenyan and the national security staff were on vacation and couldn’t be bothered to get excited.

So, it was easy for Mutallub to skirt our flight security policies in Amsterrdam, to board a US flight, with no visa, with no luggage, and a one way ticket purchased with cash .. ALL AGAINST OUR SECURITY RULES, but because thank God a non-governmental alert passenger quashed the attack .. it shows
HOW DIFFICULT IT IS FOR FOR AL QUEDA TO CARRY OUT LARGE SCALE ATTACKS ????

You might want to look more closely at the details of the missionary incident. Developing.
Democrats demonized President Bush personally as well as his policies. Bush accepted the attack stoically while safeguarding the nation. President Obama is rightly criticized on failed policy alone yet the Obama Administration whines like children. Obama’s thin skin permeates his inner circle.

Brennan should just go back to scrubbing passport records for Rats. He’s far below his pay-grade.
