Birth certificate aside, O’Reilly asks why the birth announcement would appear in two Honolulu papers if it didn’t really happen. Nobody at the time knew he would someday run for president. What do you think?

What I have always found interesting is that the Obamas never lived at the house address given in the newspaper’s birth notices. It is far too easy to check Hawaii’s Assessor records to find this true.

Everyone knew Princes Harry and William would eventually be King of England. Who’s to say what they thought Barry might become. Manchurian.

” O’Reilly asks why the birth announcement would appear in two Honolulu papers if it didn’t really happen. “

New parents and grandparents routinely place notices of an out of town birth in the local papers.
Or a home birth.
Maybe BORe isn’t aware of this.
In Dreams , Barry ( or Ayers ) wrote about how upset the grandparents were about the marriage, although Barry admits there really wasn’t any evidence of a marriage and then the baby suddenly appeared to complicate things.
Since the grandparents were embarrassed and chagrined by their 18 yr old daughter taking up with an older African man and then getting pregnant..
Grandma probably tried to put a happy face on the whole situation by calling in the birth to the paper.
Barry definitely implied that he was illegitimate in Dreams.
This may have been the grandparents way of spinning that into the happy married couple having a baby.
50 years ago, mixed marriages or relationships , complicated with an age difference and possibly an out of wedlock birth were socially taboo.
Even to hippies like the Dunhams.

Unless one has original copies of those two editions of the newspaper, they are going on microfiches of it.

It is much harder to make fake US $100 bills than it is to update a microfiche, yet it is done.

If he was really born in Kenya, running a fake article in the news would help him get American citizenship since his mother hadn’t spent enough years in the US to legally transfer citizenship to him. That is also why the real birth certificate is suspected to not name the hospital. It was a bogus address.

Although you didn't ask me here's what I think: If he was in fact born in Kenya then "mom" would have seen all the citizenship problems for a kid with a Brit Dad and with the lax BC rules in Hawaii they just phoned in the notice to provide some indicia that he was born in the states.

My experience is that almost any government handout becomes a scam target with the pros figuring out all the angles to get their best return for their "effort". In this case American citizenship was a brass ring worth scamming for regardless of mom's hopes for her newborn. IMHO. ;-)

I do think that is a significant issue. It is noted that the address is wrong, and there is something fishy with that, but it’s only as I understand it wrong in one paper.

The birth announcements do not specify the child’s place of birth. Taking them at face value, they only state that a child was born to parents and listed their home address. He could have been born anywhere and the birth announcements would have said the same thing.

I’m sure that nobody at that time knew that he would someday run for President, but being a U.S. citizen has all kinds of advantages. Stanley Ann would have been eligible for welfare, for example.

I have read that it was very easy to get a Hawaiian birth certificate back then. A close relative (grandmother, perhaps) could sign an affidavit and mail it in to the Hawaiian Dept. of Health and claim an at home birth. No independent verification required.

Something doesn’t match with his long form BC on file with Hawaii’s Dept. of Health and what was displayed at his “Fight the Smears” website. What it is that doesn’t match, I don’t know.

Fight the Smears also claimed that he was “native born” — not “natural born”. He’s a “constitutial scholar” (according to the “dinosaur” media ;) ), so he knows that the Constitution requires the President to be “natural born” - not “native born”. Why would his own campaign website say that?

I would like to see those papers. I would also like absolute proof that they are not faked. I heard O’Reilly claim that those newspapers were proof of Obama’s eligibility. It was just more case of O’Reilly spinning to try to shut the issue down.

O’Reilly’s OPINION means very little, especially, lately. Hawaii announced many births thet did no occur in Hawaii. All one had to do was write the newspaper and request it be announced.

His grandmom filed for a COLB. ( Anyone born anywhere could get one.)

Then the Hawaii department of health in a routine manner notified the papers.

NO CONSPIRACY HERE!
