We can't see you over the internet and nothing in your use of the English language would indicate that English is not your native tongue. I've met plenty of native born US citizens who don't understand the things you're confused about either.
Again, it's not that anyone thinks they are superior to others. That's not what rank is all about anyway. Rank is about authority, not superiority. Just because someone has authority over you, doesn't mean they are better than you.

Off the record; We all know that no one can argue down the Constitution or Bill of Rights as it is in black & white and it is what it is. So one would have to wonder why you even care what igorant people say other than taking up bandwidth.
