Laugh if you will, but though I agree with the Thompsons on very little, Chris Wallace was WAY out of line if he said this. Because I do not consider his comment material to be spewed by a reporter-commentator of measureaable repute. My opinion of him has plummeted.

I don't think Chris Wallace meant to offend Sarah at all.

I seriously doubt he'd want the likes of Hillary sitting on his lap..

Agree. Wallace was a cad. Reading the title I was expecting someone picked up on the request youa “you betcha” this morning, because it emphasized something the left could rag on. Wallace should apologize for both.

Good Lord. I can only hope to sit on Dubya’s lap. Guess that makes me a dirty old woman.

Normally I like Jeri Thompson, but she is coming across as a femi-nazi on this one.

Wallace is an anchor and basically a hard news guy and certainly one of the foremost interviewers of politicians in America — and a remark like this made on TV is incredibly inappropriate and well beneath the dignity of his place at FOX.

I realize that we might not want to get too caught up in our own right-speak campaigns, as many have said here, but this is a specific guy with a specific job saying something that is so far out of bounds it’s hard to believe.

I watched Fox News Sunday and it seemed Wallace is smitten with Palen. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him behave as he did with any other female on his show.

It was cute actually, he’s always reserved and business like.

Jerri Thompson is right.

It was a stupid thing for Wallace to say.

I get the feeling some set Sarah Palin up as the Virgin Mary here on FR.

It as a light hearted joke folks.

I think it belittles her - puts her on a sortof bimbo footing. It’s not unlike a remark the lefties say about her. I’m actually surprised he said it but it’s what happens on Imus - one must perform.

Well if l’il Jeri would get her FACTS straight, maybe she’d save herself further embarrassment.

Wallace said NOTHING of the sort. He was on Imus’ program and they were discussing Wallace’s upcoming interview of Palin. Imus....being Imus....asked him if Palin would be sitting on his lap during the interview. Wallace, visibly uncomfortable, stammered out something like “one could only hope”.

NOT the same thing as he’s being ‘charged’ with. Enough of this B.S., folks.

Wallace should be reprimanded for a such a clear breach of civility and respect of a lady. Especially a lady whom could very well end up being our first female President.

I have read a few of the posts on this thread and have to admit I am shocked at how many so called conservatives think that it is funny or otherwise okay for the degradation of a lady. They are confused on the issue and might be better off re-learning the lessons of civility their mothers taught them...or perhaps these are motherless souls who so gleefully disparage women...

Absolutely inappropriate. Grown men should never make these kinds of jokes. She’s a human being deserving of respect. She’s now a colleague of journalists. She’s a wife and mother. There is no excuse for Imus’ question. Wallace shouls have not answered at all.

Who knew back in the 1980's that the two most influential politicians in the Conservative movement in 2010 would be Sarah Palin and Scott Brown?

Yes, we all know Sarah Palin is attractive. But do you think maybe some of these men could put a sock in it out of respect? Belief that beauty makes disrespect acceptable is low class, stupid and prejudiced.

She deserves more respect than that.

Would you have your mother being made the subject of such a joke? Your sister? Your wife?

How about your President?
