CNN) -- Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania, a longtime fixture on the House subcommittee that oversees Pentagon spending, died after complications from gallbladder surgery, according to his office. He was 77.

The Democratic congressman recently underwent scheduled laparoscopic surgery at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, to remove his gallbladder. The procedure was "routine minimally invasive surgery," but doctors "hit his intestines," a source close to the late congressman told CNN.

The article reports Murtha was hospitalized in December and had returned to work. When was the surgery?

Too many details are missing to really know what the story is and Murtha's medical history is privledged info. An unnamed and unethical source is leaking Murtha's intestines were knicked during the procedure. The hospital and doctors can't even response to, defend or refute such info or they would be violating Murtha's private medical information.

NO!!!!

That is so sad... I sincerely pray for his family's loss.

He was among the greatest American traitors, and he'll be missed in Congress and most likely in heaven, too.

SEMPER FI and God bless John.

Murtha, a Marine, fought in Korea and then re-enlisted to fight in Vietnam, where he won two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.

My husband had orthopedic surgery a few years ago, and you could tell the doctor had had it with the “malpractice” lawsuit epidemic because on the release for surgery, that spelled out all the complications and/or risks, each one was followed with the statement, “OR YOU COULD DIE.” (i.e. you could sustain permanent nerve damage, OR YOU COULD DIE.)

Maybe there’s finger pointing for some political ends ?

He was 77, anything can happen. Any surgery is a shock to the system.

A former boss had surgery at about the same age, all went well. He was basically in good shape for his age afterwards.
A few months later they wanted to go in again for something else “minor” and once the op was in progress his kidneys failed, then everything else. He died on the table.

"Murtha, a Marine, fought in Korea and then re-enlisted to fight in Vietnam, where he won two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star."

But then he went to D.C., got corrupted by the power, and turned on the very military that had provided him with a warrior's path to glory. He sold his soul to Satan, who now is collecting his due.

So the health care that Congress is proposing isn’t good enough for them, yet they die with the health care that they already get? So just how good is this health care they are proposing?

Well, then, he shouldn'ta had the surgery.

His time was up and he couldn't escape it.

He should have taken better care of himself.

I hope there's no malpractice suit.

And then he p*ssed it all away for politics. A fat lot of good that will do him, wherever he is headed.(Not my place to judge, just saying he’s headed somewhere).

If the RAT healthcare scam would have been in
place Murtha might still be with us for a while
longer. Why? Because the “panel of experts” would
have stepped in and not dis-allowed the operation
in the first place due to his advanced years.

Oh, wait...ah, the lawmakers
aren’t part of the same plan the rest of us
would be forced into........Hmmm, forget it.

“Murtha had a “tough-as-nails reputation”

Actually, now it would be “Dead As A Door Nail”.

Turned on his fellow Marines, I call him a traitor!

“LIBTards soon to claim it was a Republican Doctor’s fault.”

One lib is already using this as a reason for passing Obamacare. It apparently wouldn’t have happened if Obamacare passed.
