We’re smack dab in the middle of swirls of lows sliding down the coast. Good luck!

It’s supposed to be spurty with sun for a day or two..

Right now the lightning and thunder is cracking all around us with downpours! Where exactly are you again Norm?

If it pours like this much more, the people in the mudslide area are going to have some more damage!

Sounds like Santa Anita might be in for some more cancellations.

Is Ca. still considered in a state of drought after the precipitation so far this winter?

..

Cars are washed up on the side of a road as heavy rains cause mudslides in La Canada Flintridge, California February 6, 2010. Authorities worked to clear the mud-choked streets and ordered some 500 homes evacuated because more heavy rain was expected on Saturday afternoon and the hillsides remained dangerously unstable. Currently snowing fairly heavy in Lake Arrowhead at about 5,500 feet.

Check out this site. The data is already a week old, so I suspect that the already improving conditions in Southern California will be further alleviated.

It’s also interesting to note that the drought that had plagued Georgia for several years (and which had become the poster boy for the “global warming” alarmists) has completely dissipated. Overall, the US is in pretty good shape in terms of soil moisture.

I’m currently in the affected area (SB/RIV co) and it is overcast and gray but no rain so far today and no smell of rain on the wind. So, we will see.

I figured you would be getting snow parrot!!
We will still be declared a drought! You watch! Those that control the data will change it to fit their desired results, $$$$$$.

A perpetual drought of sanity maybe.

Seriously, they probably won’t say until towards the end of the winter after they measure the snowpack.

You Know You're from Southern California When.....

It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH".

people overreact including myself but nothing drastic ever happens thankfully

Well I would think though that it is important to warn people especially where the fires have been so severe. I agree there is a lot of hype, but can you imagine having the damage we had last weekend without a word of warning?

I think the regions that should be warned and take action are the burn areas, other places arent exactly prone to any real damage. This is not a big storm, either, like we had two weeks ago.

It’s weird how these low pressure centers are going south toward CA, moving east, and then north toward the District of Criminals. Let it rain, let snow, let them have it!
