>>This fact painfully permeates the modern Israeli psyche to the extent that it gives rise to a kind of national mantra—never again.

I guess the overwhelming majority of Jews in America that voted for Hope’n’Change didn’t get that memo because they chose the America-hating, Israel-hating FASCIST as their choice for President.

Good article. My fear about a revolution in Iran is that another anti western strongman such as Rafsanjani might take control and though it would not be as bad as the current regime, it would still be bad. Is there a western friendly possibility to take over Iran after a revolution? I hope so.

Great article, thanks for posting.

The problems I can see with this article is that just about everyone saw this coming after the Dems took control of congress and the left wouldn’t read this article because they believe that the U.S. IS the main problem with the world today. The left has no problem with the US being weakened that’s why 53% of the voters elected a Muslim as President.

Churchill described WWII as the most preventable war in history. Britain and France at key events, the rejection of the Versailles Treaty, the Rhineland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Poland, could have slammed the door on Hitler’s dreams.

The situation with Iran IMO is similar. As time goes on, it becomes increasingly expensive and deadly to deal with a rogue regime that has made it’s intentions clear. There is no way the Iranians could thwart a coordinated attack if necessary by the US and Israel.

Shortly after his inauguration, President Obama sent an unpublicized letter to the Iranian government. The letter was exposed when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad publicly wrote back, “We say to you that you are in a position of weakness. Your hands are empty. You can no longer promote your interests from a position of strength.” Dore Gold, former Israeli ambassador to the U.N., commented, “What the administration saw as a magnanimous gesture was seen as total weakness by the regime in Tehran.”

Save for future reference.
